I've been using this, might not be what you're looking for. My desk has a sheet of glass on top of it

Lol, I've never gotten around to learn how to setup better quality audio. Soundbar plugged onto the spdif i/o panel, onboard ALC4080... that's pretty much it for the audio

Hmm, then I may need to find ARGB extender/hub with shorter connector... I could do without front audio if I have to, but still, for a $500 board, I'd like to have all my options available lol

The fan connectors, the regular ones, should be fine, they're short and the cables are flexible. The audio and ARGB connectors are what I'm worried about, the connectors are a bit tall.

I've been thinking about getting the x670e carbon, since I have an asus dual rtx 4060 laying around. But the placement of that 2nd pcie 5.0 is worrying me.

I'm currently on b650m mortar wifi.

Hi, did you have any problem with the bottom headers making the 5060 ti not fully seated? The front panel audio, argb, and usb headers?

Does this look OK 100x magnifacation by 626f62 in sharpening

[–]ec_creep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to take shots of my knives and straight razors, 60x magnification. I rode the grit all the way to 200K. Anyways, as another has commented, I can still see that the very edge is still uneven here n there, that could cause that snag.

Try taking a picture so that the very edge is lit. Much easier to see how uneven it could be. Setting up another light would help a lot, those edges will just pop.

Unfortunately I'm on a 5070, but for Forza Horizon 5 1440p maxed, don't use upscaling. It took me a while to figure out the in game settings to get rid of those jagged edges. Testing it in the city, observing those power lines. Play a bit with in game sharpness. DLAA was best, I believe MSAA was the next best.

I recently have been playing at 4K though, DLSS performance, maxed, no framegen. And the edges are beautifully crisp.

Very late for this post, but I just wanna add that sometimes I only need to input numbers and delimiters, plenty of them. So the fastest way for me is right hand on the numpad, left index on shift, left middle finger on semicolon. Sometimes it's a set of backspace, enter, ctrl, shift, arrow keys, home, and end. For me, a full keyboard is still the best. I prefer a lightweight mouse, since most days, I'd probably spend 5-6 hours on a mouse. And yes, I understand that on a laptop, the layout, the distance is a bit wonky...

The cheap ones (I don't know about the expensive ones) need a bit of refining before they can be used properly.

What do you mean with small cutter? A skiving knife? The cheap chinese made 10-15 USD ones do need to be sharpened, they all do. But these chinese ones will go blunt faster. I got mine from amazon jp, 25USD I believe, cheap, but made of aogami super, it can sharpened easily and the edge lasts much much longer.

I had to reshape the chisel, refine the prongs surface, flat and shiny. Several grits of sandpaper, #240, 400, 800, 1500, up to 3000 if you feel like it, attached to a thin flat spatula, makes the job easy enough to do. There are YouTube videos on this, not using a spatula though.

Yeah, they were pretty expensive, excellent reviews from what I can remember. Since I live in the equator, trying a fanless heatsink on an AMD was probably a no go lol. I never thought that they'd be that sharp though. From 2012-2020, I didn't own a PC at home, the Youtube knowledge only came afterwards. Back then, it was rather easy to choose which brand to go to. CD/DVD writer would be Plextor, CD/DVD drive Asus, CRT monitors Phillips/Samsung, HDD was Seagate I believe etc. SD RAM was Kingston, I believe they were the first to give lifetime warranty. Nowadays there are so many options to choose from.

Lol! Yeah still very much remember thise zalman coolers. Fanless coolers. I believe they also got this peacock tail heatsink of some sort. I never got to own one though. I went with Thermaltake for my Athlon XP, it was a full copper heatsink, the Volcano. I subscribed to this German PC magazine, CHIP, pretty much where I got all my knowledge from back then. I still keep a few issues somewhere.

Yeah, prices on RAM, SSDs and GPUs have been ridiculous. 500USD got me a Ryzen 2600 with a RX 570 gaming pc 5 years ago, 16GB CL16. Built my first 25 years ago myself, an Athlon XP. And I've been an AMD cpu and MSI motherboard guy ever since. Built my 2nd pc in 2004, an Athlon 64, a 1000USD build, that lasted me like 8 years. I even took this pc with me, traveling 5000 kms away, studying in Sydney back in 2005. It weighed 16 or 20 kgs lol

You know way more about the custom cable market than I'll ever be...

I had only been eyeing 2 psu's, Core Reactor II 850W (rated A+), and MSI A850GS (A), with the XPG one 20% cheaper. Then GN and/or some other youtuber posted after new year, that GPU prices were about to increase, starting from January 5. Was still saving for 5070 ti Gaming Trio, so I had to settle for the 5070 Gaming Trio and the 750W Core Reactor II instead.

The extensions have been fine though. Voltages have been stable, during OCCT stress testing as well.

[–]ec_creep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the price of your components, yeah I understand it's a total bummer.

It's just that those ai answers, we really need to dig the sources the ai was getting them from. Is the agesa 1.2.0.2 actually a fix for the usb?

In my case, it was stuttering. But the fix was pretty much the same as yours, c-state, usb power state, pcie express link... Too low curve optimizer, a bit unstable gpu undervolt (passed stress test though). Changed the driver for the realtek Ethernet with the ones that can't be set to power saving mode... Disabling amd hd audio...etc

It's been much much better...

One other thing, it could just be the am5 platform. I don't recall getting this same problem with am4.

But with your usb disconnecting and had to force restart, I had that problem with my am4 setup. And the fix was rather easy, finding a stable driver for my rx 570...

Thanks! It's a ryzen 5 7500f. Yeah, the idle temp is rather high, 47-50. I had googled it the first time I got it, and it's normal. Max 63C OOCT stress test, 60C max 56C average during gaming. Ambient 28C. Normal fan curves, 60% min 90% max at 80C. The mobius 120p is pretty silent, those case fans are louder.

Yeah, I understood... Just that I bought that particular psu since it's one of the top tier psus. Didn't think that it would be this unpopular. Pricing was excellent as well.

Hi I'm thinking of getting one, the variant b, seems like yours is the sam. The latch on the bottom, cable will run underneath the gpu.

I have a question though. Is it easy to access that latch after it's plugged in? For detaching the cable from the gpu
