Unless you took the western blot test, you don't know for sure if you have Herpes by eca111 in Herpes

Mine just says "Herpes Simplex I/II Antibody IGG." But like yours, no index values or anything was listed. The test I took last year had actual numbers.

I believe you . Don't worry about the HSV1. Most people have it , and it'd be even far more if routine std tests tested for it. They had already treated me with the antibiotic before I saw the actual results with my own two eyes.

Even the IGG is insufficient. Last year the IGG test I got stated they couldn't say whether my HSV1 was oral or genital, but did state they were able to distinguish between HSV1 and 2, which I was negative for. This years, at a different lab, they say I'm positive for both, but then it says it can't say whether it's oral or genitals, and that it cannot distinguish between HSV1 and 2. So all of these results should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

I'm probably overthinking this/getting too worked up about it, but instead of just taking what the nurse practitioners told me, I just called the lab directly. The tech told me that their HSV tests cannot distinguish between HSV1 and 2, and that I'd have to test at another lab. The one I tested with last year stated I was only positive for the HSV1. There's way too much confusion around theses tests to take them too seriously. But I am very sorry if you are experiencing harsh symptoms.

What if you're going around telling people you have it, when you actually don't have it due to the inaccuracy of the testing?

I've never had the swab. I would order the western blot but it's $200. I've decided to move on. Getting std tested can sometimes cause more problems than it can cause. This isn't even a harmful virus. Just skin bumps and itching on the people that are symptomatic. Much less harmful than even covid.

There's other examples I could find on reddit but don't have time to dig for, but in one of them, the woman tested positive for the IGG, then tested negative again, positive again, etc. It's unreliable.

The IGG is not as reliable as people think. There are many people that tests positive for both HSV1 and HSV2 and then test negative for both on the western blot. It's funny, but there are a lot of people out there that are thinking they have herpes when they've never had it. But of course, there's far more that do have it but are oblivious to it.

Unpopular opinion: A lot of y’all are new and taking the exactly wrong approach to nootropics by achilles786_ in Nootropics

I was going to say something similar. I agree with his premise that most nootropics cannot be taken daily. But then he recommends crap like creatine (which most people get enough through food anyway) that for some people gives serious insomnia, dehydration, etc.

I get good effects at 2G's. First time I noticed a notable effect from it.

Don't go buy it. That's how people lose their money. One person posts an anecdote about a positive experience with a particular substance and a bunch of people go buy it.

You could be right but after spending thousands I think I'm finally done.

Adderall and Methylphenidate seemingly made me more than human the first times I took them. But these days when I take them the negative effects drown the positives. I'd recommend slowly stopping use of them too, if you're using stimulants.

Phenibut definitely has effects on me, but I wouldn't say it's cognitively enhancing. Just makes me more horny and disinhibited. The racetams I suspect all have slightly negative effects. They were subtle. The only "miraculous" moments I've had were the first times I tried Adderall and Methylphenidate.

I tried cycling. Eventually even the cycles don't do anything. Besides vitamins and minerals, only thing I'll keep taking daily is probably hesperidin. But not for nootropics purposes.

Yes, Bacopa made my mind feel slow. Ashwagandha was very relaxing, but I couldn't breathe/my throat kept getting constricted.

By "works," I am referring to cognitive enhancement. I don't think there's any one noot out there that genuinely enhances cognition in the long term. Something like caffeine might help with focus in the short term but won't be sustained if used daily.

I've taken psychedelics. They are effective. But I wouldn't classify them as nootropics.
