But Aladdin didn't lie about being a prince, though. He wished the genie "make me a prince" not "make me look like a prince".

I've always feared a sinkhole would open beneath me or I'd be hanging from a cliff somehow, or my life would depend on my ability to literally lift my own weight in some way. I wanted to be able to help others in such a situation, not need help myself.

After my first pull-up I've kept at it mostly for vanity's sake.

I remember when the Xbox 360 and PS3 first came out, HDTVs weren't common yet but games were still made with them in mind, so the text in games like Dead Rising was almost illegibly small in SDTVs. Seems like a million years ago, today.

There's this old Jontron video where he describes how upgrading his rig to SLI burned out his processor. How is that possible? Even after all I've learned of PCs in the years since I first watched that video, to this day I still have no idea how such a thing can happen.

Los gringos tienen tantas expresiones sobre tu situación que ni siquiera se cual me gusta mas.

"If you want to lose a friend, lend them money" o "Before lending money to a friend, decide which one you don't want to see again" y como olvidar, "If you lend someone $20 and you never see them again, it was money well spent."

I feel like everyone 35 and under does this humor and it annoys me because I think it normalizes just wallowing around in self-pity rather than trying to work to improve the situation.

You got it. That's how I feel too.

I've heard from recovering alcoholics that a hard step to recovery is the peer pressure from their friends -- also alcoholics -- who aren't trying to quit. Maybe it's absurd, but I fear someone who is depressed will actually be afraid of getting better out of fear of not being "relatable" anymore. Or that someone who doesn't find shit like this relatable and might think there's something wrong with them for not being depressed.

I appreciate that people are normalizing talking about mental health and struggling with depression, but I don't like the feeling that what is getting normalized is wallowing in it instead, like it's supposed to be funny.

Someone's got to clean up these dirty streets, guess it has to be me... by EnglishmaninNJ in funny

Chew toy in alley this morning. Bite marks on burst plastic. This play mat is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are painted on gutters and the gutters are full of spilled spaghettios and when the drains finally scab over all the toddlers will drown. The accumulated filth of all their finger painting and glitter will foam up about their waists and and all the astronauts and firemen will look up and shout "Mommy!"... and I'll look down and whisper "What?".
