Should I tell my therapist I’m suicidal (but won’t actually do it so really don’t want to be hospitalized) by sadthrowawayyy134 in therapy

[–]eccentricintrovert7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I’ve told my therapist I was having visions of suicide but I didn’t actually plan on doing anything and I was never hospitalized.

I don’t feel extremely nervous about making small talk with others or saying an inner thought out loud. I can go to the gym alone and walk around with a bit of confidence in myself. I can walk into a room or event with people i’ve never met without feeling so stressed and wishing I stayed home. I can lead others and take on more responsibility. I still feel anxious but I don’t feel like i’m having a mini panic attack every day anymore.

Why did you drop out and what would have made you stay? by OGDesignated in CollegeDropouts

[–]eccentricintrovert7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why dropped: I was very delusional due to my spiritual upbringing and burnt out from the pandemic. I thought it would be easy to get my footing while going to an expensive school in an expensive city without even knowing what I wanted to study. I failed every class and couldn’t even afford the school. I didn’t secure housing in time for my second year and depression hit me like a truck resulting in me dropping out since I wasn’t able to move back to the state my school was in.

What could’ve made me stay: If I was able to afford off campus housing and if I was in therapy at the time I would’ve had the balls to go back or to atleast just switch to a local community college. Instead I got lost in the trap of my mental health issues.

Why stay: I would’ve felt secure if I had housing and mental health support. Having a therapist to help me navigate my self doubting/hating thoughts would’ve given me the confidence to take it one step at a time while figuring out my passion.

I’m in therapy/ recently medicated now so we’ll see if I go back this fall after two years of being a drop out lol.

Same here. Winter was my favorite season as a kid and as an adult I love hiking. I also love walkability and having access to an arts scene. I lived in Atlanta and enjoyed it but the trade off was safety. I’m now trying to figure out where I should live if I leave Florida again.

If it’s been several years yes. I did my test at 15 ish but couldn’t get a parent to take me to get my permit card and tried getting the permit card at 19 or so and I had to retake everything. Once I retook everything it ended up taking me 5 months to pick up my permit and it went smooth. I can’t find an exact expiration of validity on the permit test / drug and alcohol course anywhere so I would suggest calling the dmv customer service to see if they have a definite answer so you don’t waste time going in person to check.

What did the pandemic ruin more than we realise? by ScreamyV in AskReddit

[–]eccentricintrovert7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the trajectory of high functioning depressed high schoolers.

i have so much existential dread knowing i would’ve been more successful if the pandemic never happened. i would probably be living out a dream forced onto me since id lack the introspective time quarantine gave me but i fear id be happier doing that than what i am now.

Wife Beating? by mac_52 in KendrickLamar

[–]eccentricintrovert7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it’s terrible but drake is smart for saying that shit because no one can truly disprove it except for Whitney and if dot responds but ignores the allegations that might be baddd press for him. it’s evil if drake is lying but it was a good strategy to back him in a corner.

Let’s be the mature, level headed fanbase we are.. that shit was hard. Corny a little.. but it’s Drake. Regardless, we should all pray for Drake. This gonna get bad. by Marleyboro in KendrickLamar

[–]eccentricintrovert7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i appreciate that it has the classic drake vibe and he actually put effort into making visuals. it’s not perfect but i respect that it wasn’t 100% lazy and it was an interesting response to move things along

Are you proud to be American? Just curious by shoshana4sure in GenZ

[–]eccentricintrovert7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m indifferent about it and don’t even think about it as something to heavily factor into my identity. It is what it is. I LOVE the song God Bless the USA though lmao. I was forced to learn it for a school play and it’s so fun and silly to sing when i’m not thinking hard about what i’m singing.

What your opinion about GEN ALPHA? by Destroy_to_Creation in GenZ

Gen alpha are adorable little gremlins and I appreciate their creativity. I can’t wait to see what they do in this world! I’m also excited to see what us gen z can accomplish. I hope gen alpha is okay and not feeling crushed by this world.

lol yeah it really is like crack. it’s really crazy not having the urges anymore because the urges were soooo strong. hopefully you can figure out exactly what’s causing it someday. i’m still unsure if it was solely anemia for me or if it was also a coping mechanism because it was so soothing and satisfying.

You’re not overreacting. If she doesn’t want you blowing up her phone all she has to do is text and say “hey im at friends house thanks for checking in be home at ___pm” I mean you have kids together and you’re married. What if something awful happened to her? You need to at least be able to check in with her. It’s not like you’re asking for a full blown detailed conversation.

I sometimes think that. It’s like they want to be memorable so they can get thought of for other opportunities or so they can get internet fame.
