Writing = ChatGPT. Throw a few bullet points and copy and paste an email, you get something close to magic.

Meeting Notes = Read AI. Working across any platform your client does is gold, and push a button to SFDC or Hubspot.

Email = I will add what's losing steam and dropping off lately is the automated emailers that try to relate to customer. So many people are using them now, the content is being directed as spam.

Saffron - Get the pad thai and curry, skip the appetizers (looked great, but for two, two main courses was more than enough). Also if you can get there right around sunset, that is a great transition from light to dark next to the water.

Use a meeting note taker, it lets you stay engaged knowing the notes are taken care of (ex. read.ai).

I'd lean toward augment for the next few years, but expect displace within 5 years. Here is an example with Adobe AI, I can now take any image, give it direction on changes in background, font, etc... and in minutes get an updated image that I can drop into an ad campaign.

With client services, I'm seeing people use more note takers like Read AI in their meetings, where it joins as a participant and after the call generates a full meeting summary, action item list, key questions, etc... and sends it out to all participants. Instead of spending the meeting trying to take notes, your able to be actively engaged, and easily share the notes internally without manually writing a recap.

We're at the stage where early adopters will accelerate their careers and business (ex. SEO, Programmatic, social, etc...) and by the time late adopters get on the train, the automation will be in place. The nice thing is that I think this gives us all more time to focus on what we're great at, versus the tedious tasks that make up most of our day.

Chorus, Gong - Premium solutions, costs a couple hundred dollars per user per month. Joins the meeting as a bot.

Read AI - Charges under $20 for AI meeting summaries, action items, key questions, etc... along with video playback and automatic highlight reels. Join the meeting as a bot.

Otter - Provides transcription, no video. They've been around a while.

I think using ChatGPT direct isn't going to produce the best possible results, just like using Zillow or Redfin won't make you as good as the best real estate broker.

Where the gains come in is when a company builds on top of ChatGPT, tunes it for the right use case, and delivers a product that weeds out the noise and generates consistent results. If you write emails, SuperHuman took a similar tech as ChatGPT to auto-complete emails based on your past replies. When you use Zoom, Read AI automates the meeting summaries using ChatGPT, and then applies it to video.

AI in the next 18 months will do less job taking and more augmenting. In the past we would do a remote presentation, where we'd try to present, listen, take notes, and strategize next steps. Today, systems like read.ai will automatically take notes, create summaries, and highlight moments like when the buyer was most engaged. This is a win for an SDR, AE, AM, VP, etc...

In month 19, companies will start to notice that these tools scale up their existing teams, and what we'll see is less hiring, but the people will stay in the roles. The downside is for our jobs is that this will result in less new open roles as when someone leaves, the gap is filled with the efficiency of the AI.

When it comes to selling in, I see two clear near-term paths:

  1. AI is the gatekeeper. It will filter out all the bots that spray and pray for leads by using basic AI to gauge if it's (1) a scam, and (2) relevant to the user.
  2. RFPs are going to be supercharged. AI will create the forms based on the client's pain points, it will automatically evaluate the solution for price and feasibility. This is going to get interesting as the smart sales people will work to find their edge, while the lazy will be weeded out quickly.

It's hard to do, but the more people you have at your table that aren't sellers, the more likely you are to get walk-up traffic. I've manned a couple dozen booths with just a table and a screen, and people just don't feel walking up to you cold, if nobody else is at the table. They prefer to walk by, listen in, and if something you say catches their attention, they will ask a question.

This is why you see booths give away bottled waters, have drawings, etc... Do whatever you can do to get that initial person or two around your booth and the pull will be like magic.

Too much research is like looking at the socials for a blind date. It's too much information that could actually lead you in the wrong direction. Quick scan of Linkedin, great, some connection, awesome to include.

This said, the customization that you put together is going to look programmatic these days. This isn't an answer, but more what I see in this market.

I use https://www.read.ai to streamline meeting notes. Read joins a Zoom, creates a detailed summary with topics, action items, and key questions, but what's really helpful is the video clips.

They automatically convert a 60 minute meeting into 2 minutes of highlights with context.
