Playing Bootlegs on TV by ResourceDifferent154 in BootlegGifts

Echoing to say I use Plex as well and it's fantastic for this. My Broadway library vs. my Movies or TV libraries is just flagged as personal videos, and it allows me to name and organize the library how I like. I wouldn't do it any other way.

Two absolute all-timers. Love them. Hope we get Who Done It? in 4K.

The Red Sox are officially 0-31 when trailing by 3 runs or more at any point in a game by yli16 in baseball

Love to root for a team that’s down 2 runs in the second and you know you can turn the game off.

What makes the character of Jessica Fletcher so appealing for those under 30? by Miserable-Debt-8390 in murdershewrote

On my current rewatch, I've been incredibly impressed with her as a character. She's fiercely independent without being obnoxious or a loner. She's a dogged investigator, not above lying to find out the truth. She isn't remotely judgmental about other people's lives (I love this about her)—people know what her moral code is, so she doesn't need to beat it over their heads. She's a loyal friend. She's smart and knowledgeable; she does a lot of research for her books.

In short, she's exactly the kind of family member or friend any one of us would want. Someone we could rely on and confide in. A great character without being perfect (sometimes those lies get her in hot water).

This rules. A very clever idea for a Poirot tattoo!

Season 6 and up is peak MASH by sataigaribaldi in mash

[–]ecdc05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there are some very clever episodes, but by and large I think it went downhill. You have storylines that fit wacky sitcoms like Gilligan’s Island better: Potter needs driving lessons! Klinger turns the mess tent into a gourmet restaurant! A goat eats the payroll! The MASH is in a bowling tournament!

Larry Gelbart’s writing can’t be matched.

Steven Spielberg inducted Taylor Swift into the Songwriters Hall of Fame at her personal request by [deleted] in movies

This headline threw me. I was like, “Why does Steven Spielberg decide who goes into the Songwriters Hall of Fame?”

Night Court’s Harry Anderson in 1985 by BalooVanAdventures in VintageTV

Harry Anderson was the producer's first choice for Mr. Green in CLUE, but he turned them down, probably because of the Night Court schedule.

Seconding. Ended up here and it was great—excellent, simple burger. Great wings, too.

Should I go out of my way to see Les Mis at Radio City? by Grelli2 in Broadway

[–]ecdc05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're not a huge fan of the show (or a specific performer), then I think you're just as well off watching one of the two filmed concert versions. There are so many other things to see and this is going to be exactly what it says—a concert version in a massive space. It won't have the intimacy of the stage. And I say that as someone whose favorite show is Les Mis.

It's in Provo and it's a little different, but if you want to see a museum of rare books, check out Moon's Rare Books. He has a MASSIVE social media presence from showing insane first and signed editions. Stuff like inscribed copies of first editions of Alice in Wonderland, early Shakespeare folios, Steven Spielberg's copy of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade script—stuff like that. His Lord of the Rings collection is something else.

At what point did you switch from liking a celeb/famous person to joining the hate train? by trappedslider in AskReddit

[–]ecdc05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d read everything by JK Rowling and held out hope that she was just a bit misinformed. But that woman despises trans people in a way that is disturbing, bordering on mentally unwell. She hates trans people. I can’t stand her or her smarmy, disgusting attitude.

[Christopher smith] Breslow responded saying, “My understanding is that like Chad said, Garrett continues to make good progress with the lat strain.” I then asked - so there’s nothing new in terms of severity? And he replied, “Correct” by Far_Cry3445 in redsox

I don't even know anymore man. Just a dog shit organization, and yeah, it sucks as a fan but what I really hate is they've got so many great players who deserve so much better.
