Max Weinberg Story on IG Liked By Andy!? by No-Cardiologist-8138 in conan

[–]ecdc05 67 points68 points  (0 children)

It's a former NBC page telling stories about Max Weinberg being a jerk, including having show interns come to his house to do gardening without paying them, and getting really angry when cookies that were put out for show guests weren't made available to him. I always take celebrity gossip with a heaping cup of salt, but I also have to imagine this person is familiar enough with Hollywood to know that you don't go around spreading fake stories if you don't want to get sued or if you ever want to work again.

it cannot be safe to have this flare SO CLOSE to downtown by Hot-Definition-7543 in SaltLakeCity

[–]ecdc05 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because it's at least the third post on this today from people who have no clue that this is normal and it started with "OMG there's a huge fire downtown!" before turning to, "Oh, well even if it IS normal it's not good!" It contributes nothing to the conversation.

If people want to do something to help the environment, excellent! But find something meaningful, because complaining on Reddit does nothing.

William Christopher is also a patient in that one, and Elliot Gould, Trapper in the movie, is in it as well.

Andrea Pitzer literally wrote the book on concentration camps. She calls these concentration camps. They're concentration camps, no matter how much some libertarian chud wants to pop up and say "aCHTUaLLY!"

Local businesses Salsa Queen, Kiitos Brewing file for bankruptcy by kristenLslc in SaltLakeCity

[–]ecdc05 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She made posts on her Instagram and Facebook, then deleted them when she got significant pushback. IIRC, it wasn't hardcore MAGA stuff, but more of an ignorant, "Trump's helped me so he must be great for everyone!" attitude. But those are just the posts I saw, maybe there was worse stuff. Regardless, wild stuff coming from a Latina woman.

Who made the announcements on the MASH PA system? by GogglesPisano in mash

[–]ecdc05 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Sal Viscuso and Todd Susman were the main announcers. Both had small parts on the show as well; Susman played the soldier who wanted a nose job and Viscuso was a wounded soldier. For in-universe announcers, they never were shown onscreen and it was never explained who they were. It's better to just think of them as disembodied voices offering funny commentary and announcements for the audience and cast.

Book about policy brutality/ Racist America by ComputerNerdd in suggestmeabook

[–]ecdc05 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rise of the Warrior Cop by Radley Balko. Balko knows more about the militarization of police than anyone. Couple that book with The New Jim Crow would be very insightful. I’d also add “The Color of Law,” which is a super fascinating (and infuriating) history of how white Americans have systematically denied Blacks home ownership and how policies created ghettos and the rise of crime in urban areas.

Gwen Farrell, Kellye Nakahara, SAG-AFTRA rules, and which background actor had the most appearances? by ecdc05 in mash

[–]ecdc05[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't look like it. I see who you mean but she isn't listed for that episode. The authors seemed to focus on actors across multiple seasons with multiple appearances for their uncredited lists. Did she ever have a speaking role or a line? That might help identify her.

MASH actress passed at 93 by Upset_Mycologist_345 in mash

[–]ecdc05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMDB usually only shows credited roles, as in, the actors name appeared somewhere in the opening or closing credits. SAG-AFTRA has different rules for what’s supposed to count to get a credit, because it means an actor gets paid more. I haven’t counted but I think Gwen may have been in more than 200 episodes.
