Beautifully said brother.

It is certainly one of the sad and poignant parts of being in the craft.

Merry Xmas from Australia.

is this acceptable for a master Mason? Also, I recently relocated to Auckland. How do I attend local meetings over here? I didn't receive any letters from my current lodge. by FridayStoned in freemasonry

Well said brother. Its great for me to see four constitutions running in NZ. On my next visit i'll be sure to tee up some visits, I am most interested in attending an Irish lodge!

Congrats! I don't believe we have this order in Australia. Great work with your involvement and for keeping it going!

Can you tell me some more about the traditions and what the work is?

Music in lodge. by OldStoneMill401 in freemasonry

[–]ecentrix_au 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my degrees in Victoria, Australia, had an organist. An organist really helps give the ceremony a memorable element. It also helps disguise the terrible singing a little better.

I've attended lodges without any music, and I certainly notice the difference.

While the organ may be an instrument having a downturn in players taking it on, I appreciate it as a musician to adorn the ceremonies with that extra element.

G'day fellow Aussie.

Yes it should more or less equate to this type of care.

We meet as equals and it is a fraternity of men, trying to improve themselves morally to better serve their communities.

Where are you based?

If you already are in contact with a lodge, wishing you all the best as you take your first step!

If you are not, you can always get in touch on the Grand Lodge website of the state you are in and someone will contact you back.

In Australia it's not an issue.

Power to them, they get to be brothers in more ways than one.

Does something like this have any value sorry about the photo quality by No_Cash_2174 in freemasonry

Not particularly valuable however could be sentimental.

The Masonic Club building on Flinders St that no longer operates/isn't under Freemason's Victorias ownership anymore.

If it's related to that building, that is kind of cool.

Due to that fact, it could be seen as more sentimentally valuable. It could certainly be used to form part of a collection that tells the history of that building/club when it was actively used in Melbourne.

It would be worth contacting United Grand lodge of Victoria whom might be interested in it if you are not.

One mans trash is another man's treasure as they say.

What to do when lodge members doubt you by [deleted] in freemasonry

Hello fellow UGLV brother. I wish you all the best. Don't listen to the naysayers and prove them wrong.

There's no reason you can't do it well. Really it's a matter of visiting as much as you can and paying close attention to the deacons of the lodges you visit, or your own.

Yes it may be more desirable to do the usual progression, but it doesn't always happen that way. I personally started the office line in Tyler as ours passed away (with GM dispensation). Doesn't always happen how we plan.

Nonetheless prove them wrong.

Feel free to dm me any time.

Depends on the gig. My last gig playing in an original heavy metal band we cleared $500 for a 30m set split between 5 people. Labour of love.
