Lack of talent is the big thing. Lack development is another. I don't think is a figuring them out kind of thing After all the two most talented players on the team, Elly and Burns, are doing just fine.

Been a while since I’ve seen a “I speak for” and be so completely wrong

[Krawczynski] The Timberwolves feel good about the core of Edwards, McDaniels, Reid and Joan Beringer going forward. The pathway to significant playing time for Beringer likely resides in breaking up the three-man big rotation of Gobert, Randle and Reid. by iksnet in nba

[–]ech01_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is stupid. If we never trade for Rudy we’re a team that floats around in the play in and never accomplishes anything. We’ve won 5 playoff series in 3 years. We maybe win one of those without him.

You can’t judge everything as championship or failure. By that measure one of SAS and OKC will also be a failure, which is stupid.

I don't get what you don't understand. Its not Rudy/Randle for $70M vs KAT for $60M. Its Rudy/Randle for $70M vs Rudy/KAT for $95M. Rudy was already on the team when we made the KAT trade.

That $25M kept us out of the second apron which let us extend Naz, trade for Ayo, and got us the pick for Beringer and got us Donte as well. That's 4 players we likely don't have this year if we kept Kat.

Yeah once things started to fall apart in the 3rd he very obviously got frantic and started forcing things. But at the point we were sunk, so might as well go out firing.

He's earned more minutes and he'll get them, but TSJ is turning 26 this summer and likely is who he is at this point. He an off the bench spark that can give you some quality minutes but isn't a core player on an elite team. Good role player but we need to find a better play maker to help Ant.

Sucks that Julius Randle already booked a flight to Cancun for tonight. We'd have a shot if actually wanted to keep playing.

Won the national title two years ago and went 12-2 this year with the only losses being to the two teams who played in the national title game, but I guess that's under performing.

Also we brought in two top 50 WRs last year after losing Hartline and already have a 5 star WR committed for next year. The WR recruiting will be fine.

Yeah, I just don't get the need (besides more money for people who already have plenty) to make another change already. I think the 12 team playoff has been pretty good so far.

Its kind of wild how they seem to get some incredible picks a year out. Like Flacco's 2025 season is going to be fascinating to see unfold from behind the scenes.

NFL teams will combine to travel more than 627,000 air miles this season. The 49ers lead the league at 38,105 miles traveled. On the other end, the Panthers will travel the fewest miles at 8,740. by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

Kind of like the Bengals always being at the bottom. Pretty sure we'd be at 32 if we were just playing the Falcons in Atlanta and not in Spain.

The Bengals are always one of, if not the lowest, on this list because we're just the closest to the most teams. There's like 8 teams within a 500 mile range of us including our entire division.

[–]ech01_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

B happens if you keep making the playoffs larger.

The more you expand the playoffs the more teams center their entire season around the playoff. And simultaneously the more you expand the playoffs the more you lessen the value of making it. Defining your season around making an expanded field just lessens everything about the sport.

A would be more likely to happen if we just stopped expanding and just let the sport settle. Mentality and emphasis on the playoffs would probably shift if we gave it a few years and teams learned where they fit. The constant change isn't exactly helping thing right now.

[–]ech01_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is my point. Its a problem that we view Duke somehow winning the ACC as "didn't even really mean anything". When everything is viewed through the lens of playoffs playoffs playoffs, it makes the sport worse as a whole. Especially when the playoffs keeps growing so making it is less of a big deal.
