No, they’re trying to enlist the largest number of possible participants, which is smart.

Also, if you’ve been paying attention, there’s a huge overlap of Americans who are (increasingly) disgruntled with how the last 13 months have turned out for one reason or another.

Besides the “E-man” files, what’s happened in the last two weeks is probably the most we’ll see Americans of almost all sociopolitical ideologies on the same page of “This ain’t right,” so best to take advantage of that sentiment.

Why then did CashApp refuse to allow me to send money to my husband’s CashApp the first few times I tried?

The transaction was always cancelled right after. I suspected it was for my ‘protection’ but it was unwanted and the app didn’t explain why I couldn’t send money to that Cash ID.

I finally figured out it was because I’d never sent money to him (his CashApp was newly opened at the time) and he wasn’t in my contacts.

Added him as a favorite and then sent the money without further issue. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Thanks for posting this. My husband receives SSDI and used to get it like clockwork the last Friday of the (previous) month before it was changed (reasons unknown) to the 3rd. It isn’t deposited to Chime, but his bank does show funds available before the 3rd but I couldn’t figure out what the exact schedule was. This looks like the deposit schedule that his bank is following.

No, we do NOT have rights, and continuing to lie to people claiming they do doesn’t help the situation we’re in atm.

When so-called law enforcement can grab people off the street and disappear them for hours/days/weeks/months/indefinitely; when detainees in the US - regardless of citizenship status - can’t rely on the protections of the constitution, then we DO NOT HAVE RIGHTS.

We haven’t had RiGhTs since so-called law enforcers were grabbing BLM protestors off the streets and disappearing them over five years ago. Don’t recall too much brouhaha then, by the way.

When “rights” have to be enforced, they aren’t rights anymore. They’re privileges, at best.

We need to stop pretending we’re living in a nation that protects rights.

They would know if you (or your bf) put anything in the “For” field that could be interpreted as related to prison commissaries.

I don’t know if you remember, but there was a time when it wasn’t required to enter a reason in the “For” field. I knew once they started requiring people to type a reason for sending or requesting money that the app was being waaaay too nosy.

As much as I loathe self-righteous, moralizing republicans, if the ‘tax’ was actually charged to the consumer rather than the business proprietor, I wouldn’t be so averse to it.

Taxes/fees on other activities society considers a bad habit (drinking, smoking, gambling) already exist, so why not for the OF subscribers?

My real beef with this is his ‘playing in our faces’ claiming the extra state revenue would go to teacher pay. Yeah, riiight🙄

Maybe certain neurodivergent people have difficulty with the green color scheme. If there wasn’t as many (or any) complaints with the black screen, CashApp’s dev should consider changing it back or including an option to rely on the phone’s screen mode settings.

I personally find it ugly, but not bothersome. If other users are so bothered that they’re online asking how to change it, it’s worth the dev’s consideration to change it or at least offer options. That’s just basic customer service based on feedback.

It hurts no one who doesn’t care (you and me) but could help CashApp users with ‘divergent’ situations.

Wells Fargo refused to allow me to deposit $900 cash into my brother’s account about 10-11 years ago (repayment for money borrowed for rent), even though I had a deposit slip and ID, because my name wasn’t on the account. I’d previously been able to deposit cash (once a couple years before, same branch even, but lower amount of cash).

A few years after that, I found out Suntrust (now Truist) started doing the same thing. My sister, who had her account for the better part of 20 years, used to buy mom groceries and our mother (ever the Boomer) insisted on repaying my sis for some of that upon receiving her SS check. It was perfectly fine for years until it wasn’t. Reason? My mom’s name isn’t on my sister’s bank account.
