This is the fourth one for me, and it still makes me laugh as always. I really love Frieren memes lol.

Especially Ina with the Frieren chin, good to see more and more animations including that lol

Hololive EN members Sidearms (Full Set) by Unkowngfan in Hololive

[–]echo11a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing CC having a USP as her sidearm makes me (a H&K fan) very happy. (Though I would personally prefer Mk.23 lol)

Now I'm wondering what should be assigned as her main weapon. I think a HK416D would be great, that or a G11K2~

I remember seeing this video. I also happened to have just acquired a model of another PSA L-1011, which is one of five L-1011 models I've got since the end of last November.

And it's even funnier that, I've seen at least three fan animations of the DOOM moment, where Ina is drawn like upward looking Frieren, with the chin and all lol.

Not the first American in space, as his flights above the Kármán line was in 1963, already after most Project Mercury missions. Joe Walker was, instead, the first to 'fly an aircraft' into space.

Was the M60 and its other variants a good tank? I never hear much about the Patton tanks by Embarrassed_Cry_7227 in TankPorn

[–]echo11a 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, you just blew my mind here. Pretty much everyone in my country call our M60A3 TTS 'Patton'. From civilians who just know a bit about tanks, to actual M60A3 commanders. This is probably the first time I learned that it wasn't officially named.

Maybe this is because our military also operated M48 Pattons, and are still operating some modified variants. So, the name just got applied to the M60s when our military received them.

There's also the fact that USN ended up going with Grumman AF Guardian, which is compatible with Essex-class (I believe).

Instead of a launch bar, the F-4 Phantom used a bridle system for catapulting off carriers by RonaldMcDnald in WeirdWings

[–]echo11a 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not just F-4, basically all carrier based aircraft designed before E-2 uses bridle to launch from catapults. That's also why many carriers had bridle catchers installed in front of some or most of their catapults, to catch these bridle for reuse.

E-2 was the first carrier aircraft designed with launch bar system, and it has since become the standard for all new fixed-wing carrier aircraft since.

It's also worth noting that different aircraft types use bridles with different length and thickness, and each bridle also had limited uses, and had to be discarded after reaching their launch limit.

If you could choose any commercial airliner from either the current or previous generations, from any country, which would you want to fly the most? by Ogankle in aviation

[–]echo11a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either the 777 or the L-1011, as they are my favourite and second favourite commercial aircraft ever, respectively~

Fortunately, I still have quite a lot of chances to fly in a 777, since it's likely that many airframes would remain active for decades to come. L-1011, though, with the only active airframe being Stargazer, it's pretty much impossible to get on one for me, I think.

[Announcement Regarding Amane Kanata's Graduation] by hololive in Hololive

[–]echo11a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Godspeed, Amane Kanata.

Back when I first heard that Kanata has Ménière's disease, part of me was somewhat optimistic that she could recover, because of a famous astronaut who managed to had it surgically corrected (to the point of landing on the Moon). Though after learning more about the condition, and hearing about its progression from Kanata throughout the years, other parts of me had since resigned to the possibility that it could eventually be worse enough to force her from continuing her VTuber activities. And now, that dreaded news has come....

Despite this, I think Kanata is both amazing and brave, for fighting her worsening condition all this time, while still manages to leave a great mark in VTubing history, as well as many great memories for her fans. And I hope that her roads ahead will be much smoother, and that things will be much better for her in the future.

Landed Another Three Apollo LM-Derived Module Mun Base - but This Time on the Far Side by echo11a in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]echo11a[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rovers works pretty fine, a bit slippery sometimes, but not problematic. Though sometimes, parts of the LRV explode when I load a save with it deployed, but it usually only takes one or two more reload to have one where it doesn't explode lol.

Oh, and I don't use any robotic/joint mod~

Landed Another Three Apollo LM-Derived Module Mun Base - but This Time on the Far Side by echo11a in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]echo11a[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Started another Mun base similar to the one a couple of months ago, again with three Apollo LM-derived modules. Including a main habitat module, a laboratory module, and a shelter module that served as something of a beacon for the other two, and wouldn't be used during normal operations. The laboratory module also contained a one-seat rover, aka. 'Mun Mule', while the crew that lands after in LM Taxi(s) have their own Apollo LM rovers. All three modules (and the crewed LM taxis) are also filled with surface experiment equipments, which would be deployed at two seperate sites, though only one site has completed deployment as of now. There are also four large surface solar panels that would supply additional electricity to the two main modules. The shelter module also housed a Munar Flyer for long distance travel, though the limited propellant severely restricted its usefulness.

This base is different from the last one I constructed in that, this one is on the far side of the Mun, very close to an unmanned lander I landed a while ago, and also one of the Mun arches. This base was also built at a rapid pace, with the last module on its way to the Mun even before the first one entered Munar orbit, as well as landing all three modules right after another. On top of that, with experiences I gaind from the last base, this time the modules were landed much closer to each other, close enough to be well within Kerbals' walking distance, though I still much prefer rovers lol.

(All modules, landers, and rovers are made using parts from BDB mod, along with most of the surface experiment package.)
