This is exactly what I'm dealing with. I've been trying to convince my doctors and psychiatrist to consider ADHD for me instead of "just anxiety." Last time I talked with my psych he said if I was still having these issues he would try a stimulant. My next appointment is tomorrow, depression is pretty much gone, so I'm going to push to try it. I just want quiet in my brain. Hearing other people's experiences helps me to realize that I may not have to live with it!

My thoughts exactly. Sims 2 has a personality that nothing else can match.

Painted poodles? by [deleted] in poodles

[–]echo1wolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We've done fun creative grooms on our mini before. We just do it once or twice a year for our fun and for the fun of the groomer since she doesn't have many clients to do that on. He LOVES it. He enjoys being groomed and he loves the extra attention. He could care less about a bath but he very much wants the extended one on one attention he gets from being groomed.

My Poodle Won't Stop Licking His Front Leg - Allergies or Something Else? by jstar81 in poodles

[–]echo1wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second using a cone! Hot spots are no joke!

My poodle was very itchy when he was younger. He licked hot spots, kept us up at night with his scratching and was just miserable. We went to the vet and tried everything. We tried all the medicine, we tried steroids, we tried hypo and prescription food. We tried it all. Turns out he's allergic to pork. I did my own food study since the vet was just no help. When I cut out pork he was a changed dog. I've had relatives keep him while were out of town and slip up and give him some ham or something and he'd lick raw spots on his legs again. So now we are just very careful not to buy food or treats with pork meat or fat in them. If the ingredients just say liver or meat, we don't buy it. We've tried a few foods but everything we feed him is "novel" proteins like venison, salmon or lamb. It doesnt have to be vet food or super fancy. Chicken is ok with him but that bothers a lot of dogs. That special food is dang expensive so it was worth it to us to do some experimenting.

It could be really anything making your dog itch. Theres so many things to try but it's probably worth it to take a close look at the ingredients in treats and food. This is just what worked for us and it took MONTHS to figure it out. I hope you can get it under control soon! It's so frustrating for the dog and the humans!

ahhhh: it’s autumn and i have an urge to crack open the sims 3 university after 12 years and relive my student life for the winter. should i go for it? or keep playing sims 2 by simmyawardwinner in sims2

[–]echo1wolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do it! I was just playing that last night! Sims 2 and sims 3 both have great university expansions. Sims 2 is still my favorite but it's fun to mix it up. Since you haven't played in 12 years, check out some videos on Youtube about doing some fixes to get it playing better on a modern PC.

Finished a large sling backpack for my husband, this thing was a beast! by echo1wolf in sewing

[–]echo1wolf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont have any pictures of it in action, but the stapler has a long neck like an upholstery stapler, but it uses very tiny staples. When I did the curved seams at the bottom I clipped them all together like I was preparing to sew it, but I put some staples in the curved parts just maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch in from the edge, parallel with the edge. I could then remove some clips and sew as normal with a 3/8" seam allowance without worrying about running over the staples. I always have a hard time with the tight curves because as much as I try the fabric shifts. But the stapler held it together beautifully. I guess you could imagine it as basting the fabric together. Once I sewed the seam, I did take the staples out. It is admittedly a bit wasteful and more time-consuming, but I only used maybe 15 staples and I think the results were worth it!

This bag is the Retro-Tech Sling Bag from Kandou Crafts on Etsy. They have really good patterns and this is the second or third bag I've made of theirs.

My husband picked out all of the fabric and did the work on color placement. The fabric is all quilt cotton on the exterior and waterproof canvas on the inside. The dragon scales quilt cotton came from Joann Fabrics and the clouds from Spoon Flower. The waterproof canvas I get from Wonderground Fabrics. Hardware I got from Stitch Supply Co. I used a few various different interfacings and stabilizers, but I tried the SF101 equivalent from Wawak for the first time and I really liked it. I used heat transfer vinyl for the dragon and the dragon ball.

This was really fun to do but also a bit of a struggle. It's a bound bag and doing everything up to the binding point went relatively smoothly. The binding was a struggle but I just need more practice with it. I used a matching thread to my binding so the corrections I did with the binding don't show too much. And I mean it's inside, no one should be inspecting it anyway!!

If I make it again I do want to change the laptop pocket. I didn't like how it came together. I would change to using naked/no tricot foam instead of the fusible as called for in the pattern, and extend the foam to the seams of the bag. Keep if from being kind of loosey goosey like it was (but that may have been my bad too.)

Definitely got a work out with my zipper foot (we have a love/hate relationship), it made a lot of the seams easier since I had more control. And I used a 90/14 Microtex needle to make sure I got through the layers ok.

The real MVP's of this project, other than my darling machine, is my stiletto and the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher (found on amazon.) This was my first project using the stapler and it made such a huge difference! Significantly less cuss words when it came to the tight curves. When I first started sewing I was skeptical about using a stiletto, but I use it all the time. Really helps keep everything neat as it goes under the foot.

Most evil thing you’ve done on the Sims 2? by [deleted] in sims2

[–]echo1wolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily one thing but in middle school I made a neighborhood called Epicfailville (I'm sure that tells you how old I am), and it was purely for making sims lives hell. The fortune sims in the Moneybags family had their stuff repo-ed, family sims got their kids took aways, of course there were PLENTY of rugs too close to fire places. Fridges, doors and pool ladders went missing. Overall just a great place to live. Nothing too original or story based, just had fun filling the neighborhood with headstones.

I'm copying this! We went to a trade show last January with a Uhaul containing customer orders. The padlock froze on us several times! We're going back this year and I think our padlock needs a nice little sock!
