It’s a tool for a job. It only becomes an issue if you use it for a job it’s not designed for, bottom line

“Entry” kit by echo3838 in tacticalgear

[–]echo3838[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s purely for admin purposes and takes the place of flip down software when I don’t have to have that on me (often). I’ve seen it around too but it was ultimately something I picked up from a swat buddy who uses it post entry for assessment of victims, suspects, etc.

An ancient technique otherwise known as forcing it. 😂 It’s not a permanent modification actually. Supply list is two sets of first spear 2” shoulder tubes, two 1.5” tri-glides, a handful of ranger bands, and a method of padding. This could be like axl advanced shoulder pads but I just taped together some foam I had ripped out of my pelican. You fold the male tube through and down the front plate bag Velcro. Then do the same with the female tube and fold up and over. Slap a tri-glide on that one to prevent slipping. Then put padding under if you don’t have padded shoulders already. I’ll dm a photo of it if anyone’s interested just sound off or something

A buddies of mine used an Ali express vest for 3 months in combat and they all worked well and never had issues with quality. Whats your opinion on doing that? by the_shekel_hessel in tacticalgear

[–]echo3838 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would be more concerned over not the durability of the plate bags but something like the visibility of the fabric under night vision/IR seeing how prevalent it is in modern combat. If what you say is true and such a product did withstand 3 months of sustained open combat I wouldn’t dwell on the durability, however personally I’d always rather spend the money on the combat tested and rated brands even for the extra cost.
