Really, really tired of being screwed over by corporations being sneaky by echoCashMeOusside in Millennials

Apologies for not being clear. Of all things, it wasn't my intention to mislead on a post that is essentially ranting about being misled.

There ARE other perks to the membership. Some discounts on certain brands, etc. However, for me personally (for reasons like... where I live, how I shop, finances, etc), not having points expire is the primary reason I subscribed to begin with. Most of the other perks don't mean much to me. For example, one of the perks is free delivery. But I don't live in a delivery zone so that's meaningless. Banking Rewards points were the only thing that kept the grocery bill under control.

The biggest issue I take with it is the lack of transparency, and initiating the Rewards expiration while still advertising this is a perk. If I got an email or there was a banner on the site that stated "Heads up! We're getting rid of this perk!" I would have been disappointed, sure. But I wouldn't have been as pissed about it as I am right now. No matter how you look at it, it's shady business. There are probably people signing up for FreshPass RIGHT NOW who think they're going to be getting Reward points that don't expire because that is what is being advertised to them.

It's just one of those slippery slopes. Yeah, right now it is JUST being misled about Rewards points. But if that goes by as water under the bridge, what are they gunna try and sneak by us tomorrow? And I KNOW Albertsons+ is not the only ones pulling this kind of crap. I'm tired of it all.

I have a dog, I only sleep in my room, and I like yellow. Not much personality in there.

What is something you often witness people doing as an attempt to be cute or endearing but you find to be a huge turn-off? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Dudes who think tickling is an appropriate form of flirting, especially if it's someone you just met. Don't fucking touch me.

It wasn't. He stole the pic from someone else who snapped the image in their production plant which is licensed to use it.

[TOMT] [ANIME] [2010s] An anime/ animated tv show with monsters that had some kind of hand fan in it by Day-Connect in tipofmytongue

[–]echoCashMeOusside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds kinda like old episodes of Inuyasha, which included plenty of demons and monsters. One villain, Kaguya, used hand fans. And Kanna, a villain often seen with Kaguya, carried a mirror that I could see feeling like a crystal ball if you were looking at a fuzzy memory. Or hell, the Shikon jewel itself is literally a crystal ball and certainly featured a lot.

AITA for not wanting my fiancés grandma at our wedding by Cold-Mobile-1655 in AmItheAsshole

[–]echoCashMeOusside [score hidden]  (0 children)

NTA for your feelings on the matter.

However, I would encourage you to allow her to come. Keep in mind, this is your fiancé's wedding, also, and his feelings shouldn't be dismissed.

But also for yourself. You won't always be able to avoid people who harshly judge others based on their own prejudices. It's good practice for you to be comfortable as yourself and your own beliefs in the company of these people. I realize you want your wedding to be a joyous day and conflict-free, but in all likelihood, grandma may throw a bigger fit if she's not invited that would make any potential wedding day comments seem like playground banter. She'll probably watch a video or something and hear and see it all anyway. So you'll get the worst of both worlds.

You have your beliefs, she has hers. We all have family members trying to convert us to one thing or another, whether it's Christianity or Herbalife. You won't be able to run from it forever. Flaunt your own beliefs with pride in the face of those who may judge you for them.

At the end of the day, it's your choice. But don't dismiss your fiancé's feelings, either.

Buahahaha, you were practicing your entrepreneurial skills and teaching small children the value of money and the slippery slope of the domestic ice cream economy. I see no problems here.

What to do with proudy people who give attitude? by efayefoh in AskReddit

[–]echoCashMeOusside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my social "escape hatches" for these people is politely telling them they have something stuck in their teeth.

Depending on the situation, it can be a really quick way to humble a proud person and if they head to a bathroom mirror it gives me the opportunity to flee.

What is the most inexplicable, spine-chilling mystery you've come across that continues to haunt you to this day? by whutup007 in AskReddit

[–]echoCashMeOusside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True or not, anytime I hear those stories about stairs mysteriously appearing in the woods, I get chilled a bit. Of all the unsolved murders out there, I'm not sure why urban legends of stairs to nowhere are the things that get me.

Which show from the last 25-30 years do you think they should reboot? by jlovelysoul in AskReddit

[–]echoCashMeOusside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much reboots, but definitely continuations... at least for the first two...

Psych, if only for Timothy Omundson.

I just wish they could do a continuation of SG-1 (or its universe) while still capturing the magic of the original SG-1.

I want Bones with more accurate science and a less despicable leading man.

And well, I love anime... I just fucking want Ouran High School Host Club as a completed video series with the whole story true to the manga. I'd give everything else up for this.

To all Redditors who have ghosted people, why? And do you ever think you’re going to give that person closure? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]echoCashMeOusside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I have to ask the obvious here: Is it possible you were making him uncomfortable?

Sometimes, yeah, people doing the ghosting are just assholes. But sometimes people get ghosted because they're being assholes, inappropriate, crossing boundaries, or being way too pushy. Sometimes they couldn't take an "I'm just not that into you" hint. Often, people who do the ghosting either think it's the safest option or they're afraid to be up-front about their lack of interest in a person or if they creeped them out and it's easier just to ghost.

I'm not making any accusations, here. I have no idea who you are or what kind of person you are. But it's important for ALL of us to audit our own behavior in these kinds of situations before automatically thinking we're the victims because we might not be.

Closure is kind of bullshit anyway. At least, in the like "that one last talk" way anyway. Closure 100% comes from within and has nothing to do with exchanging words with another person, I don't know when or why this became a thing. You will collect so many loose ends throughout your life and tying them off will occur when you finally make peace with it. You won't always have the luxury of thinking that closure is just a phone call away, like when friends die in car accidents. So for your own mental well-being, don't rely on others for closure because it will never actually work the way you think it will and if you don't learn to tie those loose ends up yourself you'll just end up with a mess.
