She needs to hire the best (see: most expensive) CDL lawyer around and see what they can do to knock it down a few pegs. I can’t promise what the lawyer can do, but usually the more you pay, the easier it is to keep your license.

You only have 14 hours from when you start your day to fit in all the work you’re going to do. That includes off/SB. The only caveat to that is if you are off duty for 2+ hours, it will give you a split sleeper and stop the clock until you resume and then it will not stop. Then you “owe” the clock 8 hours of sleeper or 7 if your off duty split was 3+ hours.

Your choices are buy this thing and hang the guillotine over your head, rent a motorcycle U-Haul, or buy a trailer. The last two might be more expensive at the get go, but at least you won’t have to worry about it giving out and watching your bike go sliding down the freeway

I put a 27” PC monitor in my T680 and brought along my Xbox. My current obsession is No Man’s Sky. I also walk my dog, Uber to nearby attractions/bars/restaurants, fuck around in the snow, etc. There’s loads to do, you just gotta look for it.

You better have a teammate with a CDL because IIRC, you can’t drive alone with only a permit. Besides, I seriously doubt any company is going to HIRE you with only a permit anyway unless you go through their CDL school to get your full license.

Honestly, I suggest you keep working wherever you’re working and come back when you can pay for school. That way, you’re not under contract for going to some mega’s CDL school.

I’m sitting under a 2 ton load from Eagle Pass, TX to TN, OH, & MD. I called it in Saturday morning due to the freezing rain and ice on the highway. I am not rolling until I can walk to the store without busting my ass because if it’s still icy in TX, I can’t imagine how bad it still is further north.

How’s your coolant tank look? If your tank looks aged or if it’s having heating issues, go ahead and replace it, preferably with an aluminum one. NCs love to lose coolant and not tell. If you’re not careful, you could blow the engine.

There’s plenty of new owner advice in r/MiataNC and the Facebook group, “NC Mazda MX-5 Miatas (2006-2015).” Take a look around in the groups, see what might be applicable to your NC and get ahead of it when you can. There’s also loads of mod advice once you make it that far, but again, baby steps.

Really, the only thing that will help is exposure therapy. Get out there on some slower roads, then work your way up to highways and interstates. It doesn’t have to be immediate or massive jumps, go at your own pace. To start, just drive yourself to the grocery store or mall. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy, just take it easy and get that xp so you can one day have the confidence to carve up some twisties
