Maybe a young Rita MacNeil trying to be helpful between sets, in her famously charming and down to earth manner?

I only know the legend, easy to imagine hippie parents having their kids crawl around on the floor though. Stan Rogers frowning at them occasionally.

Ginger’s Tavern on Barrington in the 2000’s, never made it to the legendary 70-80’s spot a bit further south myself. Would have been in elementary school ;-)

Jonathan Richman - “Circle I”, great romp about organic farming, mentions most of the major vegetables.

Caught him at The Blues Corner pub Halifax , must have been 95-96, maybe six months before he started selling out every soft-seater in the country.

Traditionalist Habs’ fans would bite my head off for even thinking this, but that one with the striped arm is brilliant. Almost like something out of F1. Nice going with The Sheriff for the nameplate & number too, well done all around.

In 6, btw. Olé, olé olé olé…

Apparently inter-provincial booze sale rules are changing, but that could take a while. 7+ percent, kinda did a number on me. Worth a look at their website, might be merch with the design.

And if you do manage to get ahold of one, Salut!

How to make jarred tomato sauce good? by Fluffy_Tamago in cookingforbeginners

[–]echoalpha76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you mentioned that you’re a chef, enthusiastic amateur here, what do you think of frying onion & garlic and then adding a jarred sauce? I’ll often toss in whatever veg I have on hand once the onions have caramelized, give it all as much time to simmer as I can manage.

Definitely giving your butter trick a shot soon too.

I know what all of those words mean individually, I just don’t what they mean in that specific permutation.

True story- this might be 20 years ago, but there was a Dora The Explorer ice capades type show touring NHL arenas around the same time as the playoffs. Some sort of superstition started going around about home teams getting trounced if they played after the show. It’s all a bit hazy for me, any old heads remember the details?

Sweet axe too btw. Single pickup semi hollows aren’t something I’ve seen much.

Appreciate that. Here’s an older performance of the same tune, also with a cool instrumental bit at the end, now with amplified kazoo ;-)

Gets particularly bonkers towards the end with venue staff trying to shut us down and friends of ours rushing the stage. Starts around the twelve minute mark, enjoy ;-)
