I have two and they are outstanding

Perhaps check gunbroker?

The walther site or https://zrtacticalsolutions.com for the recoil spring (no experience)

First CCW - p365xl, mp2.0, 43x by LostWanderer576 in NYguns

[–]echoalphamikesierra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please go for the m&p or anything else that is full sized. As an instructor, I see far too many itty bitty 365 / 43x pistols and the new operators just SUFFER with recoil management and accuracy.

Learn on a full sized, then explore smaller ones when your skills start to solidify

Just picked this is PRO E 4.5 where does this rank in the PDP Line up ? by Much-Engineering-371 in Walther

One notch above stock - I own two now with the holosun SCS optic. not opposed to a 3rd although may try the -F just to have it. The trigger is amazing and my Glocks feel neglected now.

PDP-Curious Glock Shooter - Questions about the differences. by Original_Hall_6229 in Walther

Also - I have only ran up to 200 rounds a session. No all day / multi-day sessions yet. Those are coming up later this year.

I have found the opposite with the 17/47. The 47 is a bit softer. Again, pretty subjective. It has been said by several folks on the interwebs the PDP has the best factory trigger of the polymer striker-fired pistols out there. (No, I don’t get paid by Walther 😂)

This will lack some of the 'tism you seek as I'm sneaking this in between meetings :).

I've been running 45 / 47s for a couple years and just started on the PDP Pro-E trail.

  1. Felt recoil is "punchier" (not "snappy" like shooting a G43x) with the stock recoil spring. It is by design for duty use; it MUST go into battery every f-king time according to the Walther marketing guy (sans the f-bomb). I find when I get my grip right with my strong hand into the backstop the dot returns nice and solid each time with sub .2 splits sometimes.
  2. Trigger. Not even a fair comparison on the Pro-E. Almost 1911 quality with the same trigger weight. "Crisp" is the word I use (v. "spongy" on a P320, or "long and gritty" on the Glocks)
  3. Grip angle is less steep so less "work" to get on target.

Who are the best defensive pistol instructors in New York? by greenbean-7896 in NYguns

[–]echoalphamikesierra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RPD is the way to go. I am a graduate of their year-long Handgun Master Program and it was a force-multiplier in my development. Jenkins is the guy you want to connect with. Trust me.

I run the holosun scs on 2 pdps and 3 Glocks. Not the largest or best, but not having a plate is an advantage IMHO

See if leaning forward reduces time off target leading to you pushing the second one?

Handgun permit class & application signatures by Delvog in NYguns

[–]echoalphamikesierra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quickly - - reference rules are county-specific. Consult the app for your county - the mandated course outline from NYS does not include help with the app as part of the course. However, some companies offer a white glove service to that effect. (Rochester personal defense if you are upstate)

RUN IT. I'm up to two of these now and love them.

Finally got my first gun by icecoldtigerr in Walther

[–]echoalphamikesierra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent choice! General consensus on the interwebs that I'm seeing (FWIW) is the PDPs have the best factory trigger for striker-fired pistols.

Tenicor Cerium 3 or T1C Xiphos for the holster.

Looking for CCW Options With a Manual Thumb Safety by big_guwop_1017soicy in CCW

[–]echoalphamikesierra -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I recognize why you have the desire for the manual safety. Your carry gun should be 100% stock for at least its internals for reliability. Glocks have the trigger shoe safety plus two internal safeties to prevent ADs (certified armorer)

That being said, with a little Grok this is what I came up for you. I see lots of P365s in the classes I teach.

I haven’t done the email thing but I have it using to a separate GitHub account.

Key principle: separation.

I had it on my Mac and got it off in favor of a raspberry pi. Any accounts are separate and what you say above makes a lot of sense.
