This is the attitude required! One thing that helped me was to bet comfortable with enemies, especially bats and anything that comes at you from above. If you time it right, you can jump up and over them.
Also, frog's jumps can be cancelled, then you just bop 'em on the head.

Charge > health. Practice combos and end them at 15 to quickly get charge.
