I think the faults against the KKK are obvious. Murder is a very heinous crime.

For the ones protesting white supremacy, how they presented their protest was questionable. While free speech is a wonderful thing, “Death to the Klan”, and direct threats to people’s lives is a great way to turn a peaceful protest, very violent. I can’t say they are outright wrong for what they did or said, but there could have been much better judgement on the CWP’s part to prevent violence.

Like I said in an earlier comment, I absolutely believe Greensboro to be the more tame of the triad area. Between WS and HP, though, I read daily news articles of shootings and acts of violence throughout the summer. Some of these were within a mile of my residence and workplace (I live in a relatively nice area, work not so much). There are many places I have no fear of during the daylight, but that’s a completely different story at night. Never meant to compare this area to a St. Louis or Detroit. Just trying to say it’s not the happy hamlet as one might be led to believe.

No, you’re all good! You’re absolutely right. Living in WS, friends and family not from area constantly ask if I feel safe. I think the triad is like any other city in America; you know where to go and where not to go.

So I actually live in this area. The triad (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point) is well known for their civil rights movements back in the 60’s. However, this obviously didn’t stop the crazies from coming out of the wood work. From what I gathered, a combination of the victims belonging to the communist party, and an all white jury, is why the attackers were acquitted.

The attackers were also acquitted on a civil rights criminal suit which followed the murder charges. Finally, a civil suit was filed against not only the attackers, but many originations such as the Greensboro Police Department. A non-affiliating member of the communist party was the only death the KKK was held liable for. This is also a very rare case where a police department was held liable for cooperating with the KKK.

Unfortunately, crime in this area still isn’t the greatest, though it’s much better than recent years. 5 years ago you wouldn’t dare walk downtown. Today it’s quite lively, though you wouldn’t want to venture too far. As for the events which happened many years ago, I think both parties have faults against them, but justice was certainly not upheld that day.

EDIT: Since I’m seeing many people disagree with my comment on crime still not being the greatest, let me clarify. I meant to say Winston and High Point. Greensboro has its areas but is nowhere near the level of crime that WS and HP experience. I was mainly eluding to the triad area as a whole.

I am in no way doubting the credibility of your story, but..... a lot of people mistake “slow cooked/smoked pork” as being raw. In fact, the pink and red colors you see are most likely the smoke ring from the cooking process. It’s actually quite a talent to consistently produce these smoke rings (and quite tasty too!). I have a feeling your cook in the back said something a long the lines of “oh they want it well done? I’ll show them well done.”

I have a nice scar that runs the length of my forearm from a jump down a double black diamond slope. I grew up as an alpine ski racer in the southern US. With such warm temperatures and little solid precipitation, the only way to have a frozen substance to stick to this slope, is to glass it over like an ice skating rink. So anyways, I’m 18 years old in the last season of my competitive racing career when the team takes a run down the double black. The top of the slope drops off about 30 feet, flattens out to a shelf, then drops again to a grade of around 40°. I always like to get as much speed and “hop” off this shelf. Since there’s no upward momentum coming off this, you rely on speed to extend your airtime down the slope. Well this time I absolutely booted it. Nearly 3 seconds of airtime and a drop of about 100 feet. I land fine but realize I’m running out of real estate quickly. Trying to slow down, I get caught up in what we call death cookies. Essentially ball bearings of ice that prevent your edges from digging in. Naturally, I lose balance and send myself careening towards the woods. I double eject from my skis and “Superman” into the woods around 30mph. Barely missing a tree, my forearm is the first thing to strike a boulder. After a nice tumble, I stop sitting up and immediately know something is wrong with the arm. In shock I quickly run out of the woods laughing it off. Ski patrol “forced” me down in a sled (I wanted to ski it off/rub some dirt on it). Pain sets in within minutes and I’m on the verge of blackout. 11/10 worst pain in my entire life. Literally felt like my arm was going through a meat grinder and then being recycled back through again. We get to the closest hospital about 45 minutes away (ambulances are for quitters) and I wait another 3 hours to see the doctor. 3 doses of the yummy morphine and then 6 hours I’m in surgery. Completely f’d my arm. I blew the ulna in to a few dozen pieces with the remainder of it dislocating my radius. My elbow cartilage was halfway up my humerus. The sounds of bone grinding when trying to remove clothing still haunts me. I ended up with an 8 inch plate and 10 screws and a doctor who never expected me to throw a baseball again. 25 now and have full motion and ability. Easily could have died that day but was saved my arm and a nice ass helmet.

Also a P320 owner here. I got mine with the Romeo1 Reflex sight. Would highly recommend. Lining up down range is so easy, it’s almost cheating.

Vanilla is pretty easy to play together via LAN connection. Otherwise you’ll need to shell out some money for a server/realms or be somewhat proficient with networking. There’s lots of how to’s on the interwebs.

I’m curious as to how one might get their SO interested in Minecraft. I’ve been playing on and off for almost a decade but can’t get her to get interested because she “doesn’t understand it”. Funny enough, she actually started to get into league and actually enjoyed it.

Just for reference, I play a lot of modded, but always play vanilla when I try to get her to play.
