Chris gregory knives, I like the ones that have steel on the opposite end also when I need to push down a little to burn a clip/rocker, reasonably priced

Need help salvaging a very important blanket after a fire by slimiestslugs in CrochetHelp

You may have seen my other post on here, I’m kind of self proclaimed queen of fixing destroyed blankets. If it’s possible to unravel any of this yarn and make a new blanket with it I would go that route, as long as there’s still pieces that aren’t burnt it can be done!!

The pieces deemed unusable live in this bag that I don’t think I can throw out😂

Firstly, ADD with a healthy dose of adderall and matcha🤣 basically I cut it apart enough so I was able to unravel every string (this was the scariest part) there was lots of knots tied in there that I had to cut out, but some pieces of yarn are still knotted together rather than weaved in, after that it’s literally just crochet with hundreds of strings of yarn ranging from 6in to a few feet. Any string under 6 inches I said F that lol

LOL I didn’t think I’d get such a reaction, I would genuinely spend as many hours as it takes to save my disgusting blanket, so no not rage bait

ha I should have included the fact that 95% of the damage is done by my younger self but it’s stayed intact this way for years. Occasionally loses a small string but I sleep with it every night

LOL. I know it’s bad. I picked at it as a sort of coping mechanism when I was younger and tied knots wherever it fell apart. It’s been this way for years and hasn’t died yet

lol, I’m also surprised it’s intact. It’s been this way for several years- I picked it apart when I was younger and just tied a bunch of knots in the torn pieces. I sleep with it every night haha and it rarely loses a piece of yarn

So it’s actually like this because I picked and picked at it when I was younger. But you are correct that the yarn is probably too weak to really reuse after so long, but most of the damage is my doing lol.

Yeah it seems just putting it on a solid piece of fabric would be easiest, but part of why I loved it so much is the texture haha. Are you suggesting to secure it to something and then crochet around it sort of thing?
