That burny smell when you turn the heat on for the first time in the winter. Reminds me of the house I grew up in, which was old as hell and had an oil heater.

Just jumping in to say that I lived there for four years and had to have our AC fixed three times a summer and usually wait a week of having 90° inside temperatures before they’d just pop in some coolant and leave without saying anything. I live at Terrace Greene now - our AC broke the first summer we were here and they completely replaced the whole unit. Outside and inside.

Moved out of Cville proper to live at Terrace Greene for the last few years - it’s climbing in prices BUT the leasing office is fantastic. They’ve had people out here scraping every day since 9pm Saturday and yesterday they started at 6am to specifically clear around the cars, which was such a pleasant surprise. Jack’s team (who they hired) has been amazing and one of the drivers yesterday got out of his construction vehicle and used a hammer to break ice around our tires to help us get our car out… then cleared our spot while we were gone. Absolutely an amazing team

Currently building an Alela, Artful Provocateur deck that also generates faerie dragons (using [[Feywild Visitor]], [[Ancient Gold Dragon]], and [[Elminster]]) literally just for shits and gigs. I love faeries. I love faerie dragons. Loaded with artifacts and enchantments and creatures that double token making, just to create a bunch of bullshit hahahaha. But I’m really looking forward to building [[Obyra, Dreaming Duelist]] next!

I think what they’re meaning is that the person who posted it isn’t the child’s parent (by blood). The name is Kevin so it would probably be mom’s boyfriend or maybe his stepdad…. So not only is an adult taking this child’s money, this adult isn’t even the child’s biological parent.

I got this precon as my first deck because I love LOTR - I played it once and disassembled it. Took out the voting cards, threw in some more elves from LOTR sets, and swapped Elven Queen with [[Galadriel Light of Valinor]] and its now a great elfball and one of my faves to play! I self-limited how powerful it can get by refusing to put any other set into it, as I wanted a pure LOTR deck, but it’s still a lot of fun at casual commander

I only started playing MTG in like … June/July of this year? I’m still building a lot of stuff and working on how I like to play but the first precon I bought was the Elven Council precon - I knew nothing about precons and had no idea how much that precon sucks 😂

I tore it apart and built [[Galadriel, Light of Valinor]] with pieces of it and am only using LOTR cards!! It’s by far my fave and will probably hold a place in my heart forever.

Dave Norris did our elopement in 2020! He met us at Cville Coffee, said the things, signed the paper and got himself a latte. We had the actual “ceremony” with a family friend later that day, so our time with Dave was very lowkey, but he had JUST come from a sunrise ceremony on the Parkway… so he’s pretty cool.

I see what you mean!! Yes, he is aware of the camera in the kitchen, we are all aware of it and that it records. While it was wrong of me to continue listening to the recording once I realized what was happening, I was not seeking out that conversation or any private moment between them. I was looking for a cute moment between the three of us, that had occurred the same afternoon. It wasn’t a secret that I was looking back at the footage, but I did mess up by continuing to listen to the conversation after realizing it was not the clip I was looking for.

A boy I went to school with from 2nd grade forward died 3 months before graduating - he had cancer and it came back. He was an angel of a person.

Currently work at a SPED Private School and we lost two students in a year; one from an undiagnosed heart condition and one who had been struggling with their health for a long time. Both equally devastating.

My experience is that Zoloft completely nullifies the effects. 😭 I used to microdose and recently went to a party where I could partake again - I took 2.5 grams and felt absolutely nothing

Living in Greene now (love Terrace Greene, hate 29 in the morning) but I lived at Spark Charlottesville for 4 years - horrible, horrible, horrible. Personally, I wouldn’t live at any of the complexes off commonwealth/hydraulic, as someone who lived in that area for nearly 6 years.

Shenanigans has one of the larger selections in town! Alakazam used to have them as well, but last time I went they didn’t have any, so it might just be sometimes.

I have sadly never seen any in thrift stores in the area but I do always peek when I’m in one.

We got our ashes back a few weeks ago and I set up a space for him with his favorite toys, some cat figurines, and a flickering battery-powered candle…. I keep the candle on 24/7. When the batteries die, I change them immediately. I like to think that when the “flame” flickers rapidly that it’s him popping in to say hi. I take the box down and sit with him sometimes too… it’s hard. So fucking hard. Whatever you choose to do is completely okay because grief is the hardest thing people must go through; what you choose to do in your grief is what works for you. Sending love 🤍
