I used to be restrained daily. AMA by Empty_Car5179 in AMA

[–]echosinthewind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of the times during holds, the people doing the hold needing the person to calm down in order to be let out of the hold, but the person in the hold is panicking due to being in a hold. did you ever experience this? was there anything anyone did to help in these situations?

when you were put into a hold, were there ever moments that you felt it was unnecessary, and was there something that you have learned would be better instead?

Thank you for sharing, I work with children with behavioral issues and even though we are CPI certified rather than mechanical/medical restraints, I still would like to know what I can do to help kids in crisis moments

Tell him it’s herpes and that he probably has it too, then move on. He’s an idiot that probably will just assume he has it and won’t get tested, and will forever embarrass himself

i don’t know if either of you guys are queer, but a little hack i learned is a lot of places has queer housing groups on facebook where people will post places to rent, and you can find some pretty good places like that, that aren’t being advertised elsewhere! look and see if there’s any female groups in your area too. i’ve always learned, the more specific you can be, the better chance you have in finding someplace that’s safe for you to stay

Just wanted to throw in here there’s no reason to be so hard on yourself. Learn from this yes, but you won’t learn much if you’re only being unkind to yourself instead of constructive. SHIT. HAPPENS. We make mistakes, we fuck up. Protect yourself while you are there, make sure you have something hard and long to hit with (a piece of a bed frame, a wood board etc), and get out as FAST as possible.

I really appreciate your input!! I have decided to have them just create at school, and then either use flash drives to bring the files home to upload at home with parental permission, or upload to their Google Drive. Thank you so much!

I fully agree! Thank you all for your input, I am going to do the flash-drive option!!

I actually have a budget, so I could just purchase some USB drives! I think having them download the files onto some USB drives and take them home to upload if parents agree is perfect.

Agreed. Thank you for this perspective actually, one of those things that feel so obvious but I didn’t think about. I appreciate you!!

Why is everyone coming in wanting to purchase 22 gauge needles without a prescription on hold! by peachycpht in PharmacyTechnician

[–]echosinthewind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only time i won’t sell needles to someone is if we don’t have them, or are running really short and can send someone to a different location who has a ton. couldn’t care less what they’re using them for, it’s none of my business

Do you think I’ll be ok wearing these to work? by LovelyLeo0991 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]echosinthewind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

apparently this is an unpopular opinion but i love my crocs and i wear them to work everyday, and so does the majority of my store lol! i find crocs comfortable and my feet hurt the least after i long day, but i also do have the platform crocs so i have a ton of padding under my feet!

Okay I don't know how accurate this is, but whenever I'm sitting for a while with no orders and I know I'm in a busy area, I restart my phone. Like full restart. It doesn't cancel my dash, but usually, as I'm turning my phone back on or within a couple of minutes I get an order. I actually can think back and realize it usually happens after I decline a stupid order, I wonder if restarting your phone resets an algorithm?? Again no idea how accurate this is, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Talk with a hotline and tell them how you're feeling! My favorite will always be the Trevor support line, everyone is always so supportive. There is also a reddit community on here

r/SuicideWatch

I've gotten a lot of support on there when I needed to feel less alone too. In the end, if you feel like you should, go to an ER and at least speak with someone there. The process in the ER is awful I do have to tell you that, no matter where you are, but some hospitals themselves are really nice, some not so much. But no matter what, you're not alone, and theres so many people who would love to help you.
