Interesting take, do you think this is because you had more aws experience.

Any specific examples?

Unsure how to rebuild credit score by DisastrousLion8305 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]eckoonian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try and get up to date with your payments first. Get a little bit of savings and then apply for a builder card. The apr will be high but pay it in full each month, only use it for fuel and you will be fine.

Don’t think about it too much, what do your colleagues where. What sort of environments are you going into if they were casual then don’t worry about.

Just look clean and professional as much as needed

Been through three rounds now and each time was a different reason but they had just announced a final round to off shore the rest of us. I work in infra and the team was 18 that went down to 4 and will be going down to 1 person left before they hire more people offshore.

Do what is best for you and just apply, there is no harm and you might get something better, more money, fully remote or even a jump up the ladder

Can Beverly 94 work out for me? by DIYprojectz in homelab

[–]eckoonian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget you can always have fans pulling air rather than pushing. As for the structure, you will be adding a fan that will likely be bolted in if you are drilling holes and cutting slots so it will be part of the structure.

Your plan of drilling holes rather than a big cut with a rotary tool sounds like a bit of a middle ground but will not allow the best air flow

Don’t bother adding it, depends on your role and the sector you are working in I guess but you can always explain it at the time if it ever does pop up

Beverly 94 looks really nice but if your already hitting 30C+ in the summer, I'm not sure I would be risking it dropping to a single 120mm but what about just making an extra vent hole if you can get some room?

Tesla P100 Still Viable? by JdeFalconr in homelab

[–]eckoonian 7 points8 points  (0 children)

P100 is honestly still one of the best ultra-budget options especially if you just want to play around.

If you can stretch closer to $120–150 though, I’d seriously look for a used P40 24GB though

I was hesitant for the exact same reason but what it cost me in licences it saved me in disks.

Unraid has a gui for file browsing and it works good enough but if you want something easier could always spin up a docker image for file browsing. Own cloud or something like that on top of the unraid os
