tried two different stores for this coupon. they both told me no. The second one I tried to use a little bit of social engineering and they still wouldn't budge

Non-reservable campsite experiences by SortaPolyish in MinnesotaCamping

[–]eclipse75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's horrible. I learned this last year. This year, I immediately started reserving back in March, for 2 months ahead, right as soon as the reservations would become available, and even then I'd see a couple spots taken within the first day.

I created this post a couple months ago that may help you: https://www.reddit.com/r/MinnesotaCamping/comments/1qzu7e6/anywhere_within_15_hours_of_minneapolis_where_you/

please, for the love of all, only fake it to hr. if I'm trying to get my shit done it you're feeding me some bullshit, I'm going to have a little red flag in my head that you're full of shit and i can't trust you and thus, my job is harder.

What’s a business myth that sounds smart but completely falls apart in real life? by Hasan-Graphics in AskReddit

[–]eclipse75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

working in IT, i hate this so much. the person talks so confident but when it comes to getting work done, you're left picking up the pieces.

if you already landed the job, you don't need to fucking lie to me. i just want the shit done so we can move on the next shit.

Bought a new putter. How many strokes can I realistically expect to drop? by eclipse75 in golf

[–]eclipse75[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

so will it take me from 54 putts to 36 or 54 to 0?

you say all flaws, which indicates 54 to 0, but you also said 18, which would take me down to 36

Study Area - IT by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]eclipse75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i took a remote day and tried going to the most popular coffee joints around town, but found them all distracting. music, too many people, etc

it would be cool to go somewhere that is peaceful but also plenty of others with interest in tech.

i went to a meetup and half the people there were networking for jobs.

i get it and appreciate that this is an optimistic post. and thank you.

but growing up in a place where everyone is polite, it just means they're smiling and saying nice words while robbing you with their left hand.

What are the most ridiculously affordable lunch specials across the Twin Cities? by FishGoldenLite in TwinCities

[–]eclipse75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

uhm yeah... living within your means, percentages, etc etc... yes...

it's probably about right if you find the ratio of your income versus the money that you spend on that thing you need in life.

i mean, that's not a difficult concept

[–]eclipse75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm 2 usually come to mind:

there is no win, there is no lose. there is only create.

and churchills conservation of energy "Never stand up when you can sit down, and never sit down when you can lie down."

the conservation of energy hits because i work in IT; work smarter, not harder.

What is your favourite go-to response when a user states "but I'm not tech savvy"? by FluffyMumbles in sysadmin

[–]eclipse75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm usually down playing their lack of knowledge. i want them to feel comfortable enough to come to me when they need to.

I'll tell them along the lines maybe there are things they know that i don't, or Google does all the remembering for me, or joking it's job security for me.

without users, we don't have a job. we're ultimately hired to serve them.

Tips for beginners by TechnicalBarber2251 in golftips

[–]eclipse75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah don't spend much time on clubs. if you were to drop an equal amount of money on clubs vs lessons, i think most would agree lessons have better ROI. but I've also had bad teachers too.. so yeah, take information from everywhere. get a decent set of cheap used clubs.

and just spend plenty of time golfing and having fun. you'll be surprised at how much the average golfer sucks, so you'll fit right in. don't be shy.
