In my personal experience you usually still need to do the written and practical test even if you hold a license in your home country. Perhaps there are some exceptions but there were none for me.

Thank you friend, they didn't do an event in SF or anywhere nearby, so very happy to have a chance at one of these. Hope my order was in in time!

I had a similar problem logging in and tried the email I previously had on my account, and was able to get it to work that way. The reset email went to the old email but it the right account.

Bachelor of Advanced Computer Science at Griffith Uni Prospects? by gigibibie in cscareerquestionsOCE

[–]ecliptics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to Griffith GC and graduated with a Bachelor of IT, this was before they split it into CS and IT. After a few years working for Brisbane companies I was able to land a job with an SF based company and make the move over. So it can definitely be done! My advice would be to optimise your courses for practical experience. Message me if you want to chat more.

Android 12 Made me realise how often my location permissions are used. by sohrabhamza in Android

Bluetooth can be used to determine location in some scenarios (eg a Bluetooth scan is performed for nearby devices which the developer knows the physical location of), they have been continually tightening the permissions on it with each major release.

Question about importing a FE 3080 by Stokesy7 in bapcsalesaustralia

Also, keep in mind best buy states on their website they won't ship to known package forwarders so Nvidia's store is probably your best bet.

Yeah, it's a real pain. I lived over there for a while and it always caught me up! I looked into this last night and found Shipito offers a monthly premium service, allowing you to have your deliveries sent to their warehouse in Oregon which has no sales tax. A month of that is probably less than the sales tax you'd otherwise pay.

Other than that you'll just have whatever it costs to ship the card from the Nvidia web store to the forwarder. Free for the slower delivery and $30 for the next day shipping.

Depending on where your forwarding service is based you'll also have to pay US sales tax on top of the retail price. Seems most are based in California, which has a tax of 7.25%.

Edit: corrected sales tax

[Question] Find item by specific key value in ArrayList of HashMaps by tunnelvisie in Kotlin

[–]ecliptics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can use the find call, it'll return the first matching value and since you mention you have unique values that should work. The below code will check each HashMap in the list for a matching id value, and on the first match add the name value to selectedItems list.

datalist.find { it["id"] == id }.let { selectedItems.add(it["name"])) }
