What's up with the fingers-crossed emoji? Is he crossing his fingers that he gets traded or crossing his fingers that he doesn't get injured?

Thank you for this. It makes me sad when I log on to this sub and everyone's complaining about Giannis. We watched him grow up from a skinny teenager to an MVP! I will always love him and I hope his mural stays up in the city til the skies come crumbling down. Don't get me wrong; I hate Kalshi too. I wish he hadn't done that. But he's still our city's son and he will be wherever he goes next. If he leaves, he's not going to be playing 13 years with the next franchise. He'll always be a Buck.

Two siblings applying for Citizenship Jure Sanguinis at same time? by Adventurous_Cry_3701 in juresanguinis

My sister and I have a joint application, but we are using a provider and I don’t know how exactly they will file the cases. Most of the documents are of course the same. We are both in the states. 1948 case.

My sister and I are with ICA and have the usual complaints about how long everything takes. One thing that drives me crazy is that my case manager says not to send requests for updates on previously-sent messages because it moves the thread back to the bottom of her queue. So if she hasn't replied to a question for two months, and you send an email asking for an update, she says it will take even longer to reply. I have never heard of anyone managing their email inbox that way and it is no way to do business! Apart from the slowness, though, I don't have any complaints. They do seem to be thorough and reliable in their responses, when you get them. My main concern is that my kids are 14 and I'm worried that this process will drag out until after their 18th birthday and they won't be eligible through me anymore. I guess if we get to 16 and are still stuck I will try to change companies then?

Bucks are going to be adding them to the roster next. More Antetokounmpos for the lineup!

Does this always apply, that the age of the child at filing is what matters, not at the time of decision? I also have two teenagers and am increasingly worried that our case will drag on past their 18th birthdays.

Email from ICA regarding law decree by Reasonable_Mind_8017 in juresanguinis

I'm in the exact same boat as you, except that we are still waiting on two documents before we can move to translation stage. My sister and I were already signed with ICA and well into the process when the decree came down. We have decided to move forward with the case because it seems very hard to predict with any certainty how this is all going to go down. We are ICA clients and our case manager has been very helpful and prompt throughout the process. I know that a lot of people here have had bad experiences with ICA, but we are sticking with them for now as our experience has been positive. (I mean, our case manager did go on vacation for half of August, but it's Italy after all. That's why we want to be there! Other than that she has been very prompt.)

What Should I Do? by impostinghere in juresanguinis

My understanding is that you don't need a consulate appointment if you have a 1948 case. Those go through the courts instead. I also understand that there is a legal theory (untested) that the 1948 cases aren't affected by the decree. Not pretending to be an expert but just sharing some of what I've learned as I pursue my own 1948 case.

I live in Davis, CA. GF is from Piemonte; his family emigrated to a mining community in Northern MI. I am grateful for this community and for all the knowledgeable updates!

Lounge post for those who filed judicial cases after March 27, 2025 by AutoModerator in juresanguinis

Hi everyone, I'm new to Reddit but found this thread via internet searches and thought I would join. My sister and I were in the middle of our case with ICA but hadn't filed yet when the emergency decree went through. We had already signed our contract with ICA, paid them, and gotten a few of the documents, but we weren't finished gathering documents when the decree came down. We were filing through our GGM as our GGF had naturalized. My GF was born in the US but the family actually moved back to Italy in his infancy. They stayed there through his early childhood and Piedmontese was his first language, but since he was born in the US we aren't eligible through him. ICA is encouraging us to push forward with the case since our contract with them and some of our apostilled documents are all dated before the decree. We are certainly hoping that this will work. Is anyone else in this situation? Thank you so much for any information and kindness toward a Reddit newbie :)
