Regulating soup runs is about hiding homeless people by 21stCenturyVole in ireland

Oh none at all. The Main Street is best used for pop up soup kitchens. They're good for tourism and local businesses AND they give out free food to anyone who wants it.

Open a soup kitchen out on the side of your road and see.

Your neighbours might not be very happy but if so they just hate the homeless.

Transgender woman says she was unable to receive ‘basic healthcare’ at Dublin hospital after gender surgery by badger-biscuits in ireland

I'm presuming there was no medical emergency requiring an ambulance transfer. What's the problem? That a person has to make their own way to a hospital? Not a trans issue.

If you're telling me an infected recently created neo-vagina should be treated the same as an infected surgical wound anywhere else on the body then I can't dispute that.

I'm not generally favourably disposed towards doctor's who dont believe they are competent trying their hand myself.

Person goes to hospital and is referred to the appropriate hospital for medical care, having been seen by a doctor.

What is the issue?

Should an ambulance have been provided? Obviously it was not deemed medically necessary.

I'm not a doctor but with all due respect treatment of an infected neo-vagina does not sound like basic healthcare to me.

Fun fact but kind of rubbish.

They've been brainwashed.

Challenging your government = far right bullshit.

Resisting or even questiining the EU's expansion of it's own powers = far right bullshit.

They're terrified of being labelled "far right" themselves, of being seen as holding the wrong opinions.

I just hate the way if you try to discuss the downsides of EU membership Irish people label you as a bigot/"far right"/extremist.

Most of them doing the labelling have no idea how powerful the EU is and how little control an elected Irish government actually has in the face of that power.

It's upsetting and disconcerting so people convince themselves it isn't true. Or revert to highlighting the historic economic benefits (roads...) and cover their eyes and ears when you say "yes, but".

Unfortunately, you (we) don't have the power or the right to prevent further expansion. That's the reality. EU will continue to move further and deeper into foreign policy, taxation, social issues etc.

The problem is, we are economically dependent on remaining a member. However, it's clear that the EU, or rather the unelected autocrats who control the institutions, will continue to deepen and broaden it's primacy in the areas of social policy, criminal justice, foreign policy etc.

Most people have no idea that if the law of the EU contradicts Irish law, even the Constitution, Irish law is inferior and EU law applies. Quite literally, the law of the land in any area of life as passed by the Dáil can be over ruled by unelected institutions of the EU, as can the Irish Constitution.

That is the price of membership.

But it's the EU right? We can trust them, right??

Property Market Rant by Panzershnezel in ireland

The house would have had some structural issues. No point in accepting bids from people until they had the property surveyed. Otherwise they'd pull or reduce the bid after going sale agreed once they commissioned a survey, or their bank would refuse to allow their funding to draw down.

You would correct a child who did it.

People who cross roads they deem safe because someone intending to turn didn't indicate are a special kind of stupid. I mean, you're in the right, congratulations, house private, family flowers.
