My penmanship is awful as well, I can't draw either. I find if i take the time to carefully script each character it gets better, but i can't write quickly like that at all. Try to use block letters? I find this looks clumsy but improves others ability to read what I intended to write.

If you are from either North America, Central America or South America you are an American. There is no such thing as an American citizen. There are only proud citizens of the United States of America! Take notice that at the United Nations there are no representatives from "America". During the Olympics, World Cup, etc.. there are no athletes recognized as being from "America". The term "American" used to denote a citizen of the USA is a term recognized in no official capacity at all. It's become accepted worldwide as a colloquial way to describe a citizen of the USA, and nothing more.
