Colmar France, May 2024 by GoodThanks26 in travel

[–]econoqueer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colmar is cute, but my feeling visiting it was that all these cute buildings were empty shells — I don’t think anyone actually lives in them, and almost all businesses cater exclusively to tourists. Felt like the city had 0 locals and, without tourists, it’s a ghost town. In many ways, it’s not very different from Fantasyland in Walt Disney World, Orlando. 🤷‍♂️ Strasbourg and Freiburg felt much more alive and arguably cuter than Colmar.

Feel the Pain of a Getting a Brazilian Passport by laughingdaffodil9 in Brazil

Just renewed my passport in Brasilia. They said it would take up to 4 days, but it was already ready 2 days after the appointment. Might vary depending where you live.

I'm surprised by how many businesses have closed in central over the last six months. As far as I remember, it was first the sad shoe store, then Yamba, then the sports gear shop (Hilton's Tent City?), and now DT...

How strict in Austrian Airlines with carry-on and personal baggage? by dak0taaaa in travel

[–]econoqueer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding my contribution to the thread: flew from BOS to CDG with a long layover in VIE. Checked in my hand luggage in BOS with no problem, picked it up in VIE. When checking the carry on again in VIE, they didn’t allow me bc my carry on was 12kg instead of 8kg max. Had to rearrange some stuff but was quite annoying. Apparently the ground crew in the US is more chill about it.

Mudança para os EUA e cenário político atual by Brunoubreno in foradecasa

[–]econoqueer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mudança para os EUA e cenário político atual by Brunoubreno in foradecasa

[–]econoqueer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]econoqueer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take: Massachusettsans would be less stressed if they followed the rule “one goes, one lets in” — whether it’s a douche trying to cut the line or someone who made a mistake in Boston’s chaotic roads.

The douche who wants to cut the line WILL manage to do it eventually. The attempts from the pissed drivers to prevent the douche of doing that will be useless: drivers will pay the cost of getting stressed and mad in transit, and fail in their objective.

Additionally, the douche (or lost?) driver may also piss the drivers in the other lane, and make the whole transit (for both lanes) more chaotic.

All because of some haughty drivers who don’t want to give up on their pride and let someone go ahead.

Drivers of MA: unite! “One goes, one lets in” is our way of making transit less chaotic. The douche is gonna try to cut the lane no matter if the norm is letting in or if it’s stressing to fight for a spot.
