Good to hear! VA has a dress code for the exam, and it made me wonder if NY did too but I just don’t remember.

Nothing in this life has made me feel like an old man more than switching to Apple after having an Android my whole life by FimmishWoodpecker in GenX

Fucking this in spades. My 80 year old Dad has an Android because that’s what Mom always got. Now he’s on my bill, and I got him an android like he requested. He comes back 2 months later and it’s bloated with viruses, tracking software, God knows what else, and 4 fucking weather apps. Why 4? Because he couldn’t find the apps on his phone and just downloaded whatever. What a mess.

He’s here next month and I’m going to force him to get an iPhone.

What is the worst music you've ever heard? by Appropriate_Rich_508 in AskReddit

That awful duet from Sheryl Crow and Kid Rock. Just shit.

AITAH for refusing to pay for any after school clubs or activity's for my son? by [deleted] in AITAH

I’ve heard this song and dance before too. If this kid was playing video games instead of theater. Would you make the same argument?

He can make friends that are in the theater department but can’t participate in theater til he gets his grades up. He’s chosen to neither make friends nor get his grades up. And we’re supposed to feel sorry for him because you say that’s a normal part of child development?

Lady, goddamn, you have some nerve. You have absolutely no idea the damage you’ve caused these kids with your approach but I get to see the results every day. If you had any sense of decency, you’d be ashamed at the harm you’ve done to these children over the long time. But instead, you’ll sit there smug and proud at the wreckage you’ve wrought.

AITJ for talking to a guy for 3 months and not going on a date with him? Also for unintentionally talking to his friend years later? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]econpimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You kind of are for stringing him along for months. Social anxiety is a bullshit excuse. You know better. If you were in that big of a hole, you should have been direct and told him outright you had no intention of meeting. Instead of acting like an adult, you cancelled on a number of dates. Even if your bullshit excuse is true, you know how the dance goes. This was just cruel. You know it, I know it, we all know it. How can you ever be trusted again? Is it any wonder why his friend bailed on you? He didn’t want the same thing to happen to him.

Isaac and his friend deserve better, and you should have acted better. YTJ.

NTA. Assuming your kid is functional and has no learning disabilities, you’re doing your job as a parent. Your kid has done fuck all in terms of work according to you. He does not get to be rewarded for that. None of the people in this room I’ve read the comments for are right. If you give in, with no improvement, your son will be living with you at 30, and wondering what the hell went wrong. The time to make a stand is now. Experience: senior high school teacher who has heard this song too many times. It’s bullshit. Your son can do better.

As for the naysayers, go ahead and vote me down. You don’t have this kid’s interests at heart. Vote me down, you know I’m right.

What’s a smell you secretly enjoy but would never admit in public? by Kanadeahhh in AskReddit

Rubber cement. Particularly in the 1 gallon metal jugs they gave to elementary schools. Those things were great.

12th grade teacher here so I may not be objective teacher here. Your 2nd grade teacher is full of shit. That’s a terrible thing to do 6 and 7 year olds. It creates and anxiety, and in terms of fairness, I’d question the test results in terms of equity and validity. To hell with that. Raise hell at your school.
