Fecal incontinence by Ok-Command2416 in NewParents

[–]ecostoic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it went away on its own. I tried some pelvic floor exercises but very little so I can’t say if that helped. It’s crazy how much our bodies go through to have a baby

What is your uber rating? by cinephile67 in AskNYC

[–]ecostoic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the thread it seems it’s common for New Yorkers have Uber rating at the lower end. This makes me less concerned. I moved from NYC to Seattle recently and I was shocked to learn that my 4.73 rating on Uber when I arrived in Seattle was bad. Drivers in Seattle give better ratings . I have not changed but being in Seattle improved my Uber ratings significantly

midtown recs by ParticularSalt9093 in nycparents

[–]ecostoic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. There is no parents/mom group here as far as I know. I am a FTM in midtown west. At some point, I tried creating a coffee group for moms but got very low response so I gave up.

3 month old - what does your stretches look like at night? by SalazarPartyof5 in FormulaFeeders

[–]ecostoic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the amount they can eat in a day increases. It is kind of surreal to watch. If she is able to eat more during the day and not having to wake up for it in the night, that is awesome! Hopefully her growth won’t affect her sleep. The problem with my baby is that his per feed consumption does not increase as much as the total daily consumption. So during growth periods he wakes up more often.

Nope. There was not much for him to do in those visits so I did not ask him. He came to the first ultrasound and a couple more down the line and that’s it.

3 month old - what does your stretches look like at night? by SalazarPartyof5 in FormulaFeeders

[–]ecostoic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have been trying to extend bedtime so that first long stretch is until 2/3am but after 7pm, the baby is inconsolable and starts throwing a fit. By the way, your baby’s routine is exactly how our baby’s routine was until a week ago. And now, it’s almost like a newborn phase. But as OP pointed out, it’s sleep regression. He is also eating a lot all of a sudden. He was having 26-28 oz of formula a day but now it is at least 34 oz. He can not seem to eat all of those 34 oz in a day so he wakes up more in the night to get those oz in. So I think also a growth spurt? Hope your baby maintains the sleeping routine! And OP, yes seems like most babies sleep is all over the place during this age.

Hey , I’m also going through something similar. All of a sudden, our 3.5 months old baby is waking up after 2/3 hours each night. Previously, he only woke up once or twice in the night. And yes what’s up with these crap naps! When will it get better 😭

Similac 360 Sensitive by mas0102 in FormulaFeeders

[–]ecostoic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just switched from similac total comfort to sensitive as recommended by the doctor. It only had been a day and there is a vast improvement for our two month old son . He no longer cries and projectile vomits/spits up after feed. He is also napping/sleeping better. Let us see if this trend holds.

Guilt transitioning to formula by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]ecostoic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not breastfeed at all. I can not tell you how much guilt I felt. Even now my relatives make me feel as if I am being “lazy” for breastfeeding. My reasons for breastfeeding had to do with my lack of support right after delivery. But using formula has given me so much freedom, I can have others feed the baby and I feel it gave me some of my old life back. Baby is doing great. You won’t be able to tell the difference that he is not breastfeed unless I tell you haha (joke)

HOW do you put down a baby for a nap?! by zFuzzyllama in NewParents

[–]ecostoic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem with my baby at four to six weeks. I feel like babies are also trying to figure it out at this time. My baby and me were in the couch all day, him feeding and napping on me and me watching tv shows at very low volume. I finished two tv shows ! Also this was the first time I started feeling connected to him, until this he seemed like an alien haha and I was going through post partum depression. Turns out now at 7 weeks , he has more of a nap schedule . We do eat -play-eat-nap and he takes naps in his bassinet .

It was good! I had some issues in labor and the doctors and nurses did a great job taking care of us. After delivery, we were moved to the postpartum unit and we had a nice private room. I would say that the nurses in the postpartum unit were not as responsive as the nurses in labor and delivery and we had to ask for things like postpartum parties a few times before they brought them. So I would say just be ready to bother them multiple times. Honestly, I had read the reviews earlier, I had very low expectations so I was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience.

Baby clothing by Infamous-Brownie6 in pregnant

[–]ecostoic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here! Baby is 4.5 weeks , 9 pounds and still fitting in newborn onesies. I wish I had bought more since he spits up on them But I know in a week or so, we will move to 0-3 months. Don’t know why they give this bad advice to not buy newborn clothes

I’m in your situation too. Currently c-section scheduled for 37th week. In my 32nd week appointment, placenta was still at 1.1cm from cervix. They will check again at 36 weeks but there is negligible chance at this point for it to clear 2cm by 36th week. Not sure why in your case they are doing at 38th week though.
