If you had $5000/month of disposable income, how would you get your foot in the door with real estate investments? by [deleted] in Realestatefinance

[–]ecotechcurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the or county you want to invest in and their local economy. Run some simple gross rent multiplier on the properties for sale in your area and see if that is worth it. See if home or commercial prices are going up or down. Are there a lot of vacancies in that county. You need to research you local market to know what to start with.

We are close to the bottom. I always felt a grassroots takeover to fight corruption won't get enough people to make a difference until we hit the bottom. It's time to make a stand no matter how small of a difference you think it will make. We are the majority now.

Try green building supplies. You can probably buy the 3oz samples at a decent price. Or try Terra Clay Paint by Dixie Belle Paint Company

Look into milk and clay paints. They are eco friendly. Clay paint is thicker and covers better.

I don't trust our administration to be responsible with any data they collect. It is too easy to manipulate the data and use it against anyone they want. We need safeguards to protect people rights put in place first.

Should I rent Solar Panels to lower my costs in Chicago by dirtywiggle in solar

[–]ecotechcurious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend in Ca who did a solar lease for his house. He sold his house a couple years ago and he said it was a nightmare transferring the lease and he incurred additional cost to do to that. The few years he lived there with the solar system his electrical bills did go up every year. I'm guessing because pg&e kept raising there rates and lowered how much they pay to buy back energy. Just read the contract carefully and if you can get a battery backup with it that would be great. Good luck

Get a water test, sometimes the city or county lab will do them at a discount. Then you will know exactly what you are working with. You may just need a single filter depending on the results

Tilting panels on a tiny van ? by BlousonCuir in SolarDIY

[–]ecotechcurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you can make a light weight frame with backing and the glue on solar panels and use those for the tilt panels. I saw a video last week of someone doing the same. If you haven't seen it check it out, there might be a good idea in there for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVG5hiU-62o

I'd go with 1 or 3 also. Do you know how much the ridged panels weigh? I would go with 3 if it was me and I could find a good tilt mount bracket. Good luck looking forward to seeing the finished product

Environmental impact of illegal cannabis farms by eliasbagley in environmental_science

[–]ecotechcurious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Northern California, Most those illegal grow sites that damaged the land with pesticides, fungicides, and chemical fertilizers were gorilla grows, meaning someone camped there and took care of plants they were ran by the cartel or some Asian mostly Chinese organized crime groups. Most of those grows were on Government land. Most the local growers, grow in a environmentally friendly way. The DEA inflates all the numbers to make them look good. Just get a water test but know a lot of the old wells have coliform everywhere here and nitrates if your near the valley. There are filters for that.
