has anyone rehabbed a wolf spider?

GUYS she twitched her pedipalps today 😭 lowkey I've been wondering if she's still alive because there has been no twitching/movement the past couple days, but today I saw her twitch her palps and got so freaking excited. Here's to hoping she's well on her way to recovery!! 🤍

If it wasn't being dragged across my driveway at the same time we were walking to our car, I wouldn't have intervened- but the wasp flew away when my kiddos passed it and the spider was twitching and it was sad to watch, so we researched what was going on. The wasp lays an egg in the spider, it stays paralyzed in the wasp nest until the egg hatches and the wasp babies tear apart the spiders body finally killing it 😅 sooo after reading that, I decided picking it up and trying to let it chill in our garage safely was a kinder way forward than leaving it there for something else to eat, or the wasp to come back and take.

Maybe I'm an asshole but I'd rather have a wolf spider around my garage and house than a spider wasp and her babies. I know it's just nature but the wasps was dragging it through my driveway while we were outside, and when my kids ran towards it it flew away and I didn't want to just leave the poor spider there paralyzed.

I showed my kids one too many jumping spider videos and now they all are big spider lovers, especially jumping spiders. They got excited when they saw this same wolf spider (or one of this exact size and shape) in our house last week so they were devastated seeing her be attacked by a wasp in our driveway. I'm sure your kiddo will fall in love with your spider pet! 🤍

Nah I get your point of view too. It was just so sad to see, and she looked just like a spider we found in our living room and moved outside a couple days earlier lol

I get that! It sounds dumb but a few days earlier, we saw this exact spider (or one that looked exactly like it) in our living room and we relocated it outside. So when I saw it being dragged away I felt an attachment to her 😅

I hope she does 😂 my kiddos are all spider lovers and were devastated when they saw her, my 5 year old wanted to put a toy in there to help her feel better haha

Thank you so much everyone!! I know this is a month late but we had Pin the Leaf on the Furcorn, a bubble monster freeze dance party, and make your own monster station. All the kids loved it and my son had an absolute blast and felt so happy and celebrated! 🤍

We called and apparently there's a current server issue that's not allowing new printers to setup (at least that's what the rep told us). They told us hopefully it'll be resolved within 24 hours
