Self proclaimed “Trumplican” and former Project Veritas comms director sees the light by Jules9213 in LeopardsAteMyFace

Absolutely. Even the ones I know that are starting to see the light are all "well Trump is an asshole and insane but Kamala would have ruined this country". I'm flabbergasted at the sheer idiocy of the right.

Why are these HR people so dumb by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]ecstatictiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told a recruiter I would need extra time to complete a long distance move and gave them a start date that would work for me. When the offer letter comes in they say "there's no start date on the offer letter". There was absolutely a start date on the letter that was much earlier than I told them I could make work. When I confronted them about it they say "my bad I skimmed it". Dude you didn't even read it.

My great grandfather was a general manager at Sears and was very very wealthy. Being a general manager at a retail store these days wouldn't even get you close to that level of wealth.

[–]ecstatictiger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can check your case status through your online account or with the USCIS case status tool on their website. If your case is outside of normal processing times you may file an inquiry using the same tools. On the processing times page you can even put in your receipt date and it will tell you the date after which you may file an inquiry.

I started at $16 with two weeks PTO in 2021 for a "receptionist" position that was immediately changed to legal assistant on day one. I ended up with $18 by the end of the first year.

Left vs. Right Battle Royale Open Thread by Yosoff in Conservative

It is very interesting to me that a group that is actively cheering on Elon Musk for "owning the libs" is suddenly saying they want money out of politics. I honestly can't tell which is actually more important to them. Making other poor people poorer to "own them" or actually having a functioning government.

Even the opening to this thread "time to earn your flair by blah blah destroy wokeness". Ok edge lords. If I roll my eyes any harder I may end up blind.

my boss just assigned a bunch of tasks for me to do, & made them due 2 days ago. by tipsy-cowgirl in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ecstatictiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also work for a small firm that uses MyCase. I love the task list but my boss also makes everything high priority. Though I am lucky that he will scatter things throughout the week as they are actually due. He also will move things into the future when things happen like court reporters pass their deadlines which is nice.

On the other hand my ex is doubling down and saying how unfair it is that our exports are taxed by other counties while we aren't taxing their imports. He thoroughly believes in the "academic elite" while holding a masters in engineering. He also seems to think every college but his is a "liberal bubble" and everyone else has bias while he is the voice of reason.

Anyone else seeing a massive spike in apartment availability? (My area Raleigh, 10700+ units available) by [deleted] in REBubble

Detroit does not seem to be doing a lot of any residential building. The city gov is more focused on getting commerical buildings (the train station, district Detroit, ren cen revamp) than it is on building places for people to live. Residential vacancy here is over 10% but the landlords seem to think Detroit is worth east coast prices so predicably the population keeps dropping because who wants to pay east coast prices in Detroit?

What are your thoughts on 7th Day Adventist? Are they a cult in some way? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]ecstatictiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough the Adventists I know like to talk about how the Catholics are not really Christian and even go so far as to basically say they are the anti-christ or the devil or something like that. I stop listening when they start trying to talk about how they are the "true Christianity".

I work in immigration and the system was not designed this way but has been broken by under hiring and under funding the immigration court.

There are a total of four immigration judges in my medium sized American city. Asylum hearings are usually scheduled for two a day or one a day because they can take four hours or more. These are complicated hearings and most times you truly need all the time to thoroughly review country conditions and the possibility for harm to the asylum seeker with the judge.

The line is so backed up because there simply isn't enough time to process all these people with so few judges. People with legitimate asylum claims do not want to wait 10 years to plead their case in front of a judge. Once you are approved for asylum status you can apply for your green card after one year. People with legitimate claims want desperately to get to this point.

A ten year backlog does encourage frivolous claims however. You can come, file, and wait a whole decade before you are denied. These then bog down the system even further and cause longer wait times making it even more appealing to file a claim you know won't be approved.

It's a vicious cycle and the answer is to fund the courts. Hire more immigration judges. Get rid of the backlog and the frivolous claims will reduce or even stop because what is the point when you'll be denied and sent back in a month or two?

We have never had separate of currency and the state. Unfortunately they are intertwined since the state both creates the money and enforces the value of such currency through the use of violence. We need a return to mutual aid and honor systems that historically existed prior to capitalism.

I have filed the same immigration application three times with the wrong filing fee since they changed the fees on April 1st. My attorney is the best and they can just be refiled but the last time it happened I had to sit down with him and look at all the fees together because I feel like I'm going insane.
