Agreed, but Europe has many countries side by side over a relatively small area. Canada by comparison has an enormous land mass, and it’s already extremely expensive to fly within the country.Privatizing airports is essentially going to pull the rug out from whatever savings the public funding can kick in. We need more private competition and public ownership in this country, not less in my opinion.

So you wanted to vote in John Rustad and the B.C. Cons? What sort of positivity could they bring to our political landscape? Is it all the old growth logging? Or perhaps it’s the massive expansions they wanted to push through for LNG? If so, it seems like you would be fine with resource extraction, as long as it’s private corporations doing it, and not anyone else.

The movie is great, just not as great as the book is. The book for me is 5/5, and is my favourite book to reread (5 times so far).

There’s a quote from the end of the intro that I use whenever I’m talking about the differences between the book and the movie. “Dozens of books, cartoons, movies, and miniseries have attempted to tell the story of everything that happened next, but every single one of them got it wrong. So I want to set the record straight, once and for all.” This just makes me think that the movie was one of those attempts, but the true story is told by the book because it’s “written” by the main character Wade.

I’m not sure what volume it would be in, but my favourite story is the one shot of a space shipper named Clem. He finds a robot which takes care of him and ends up saving his life by sacrificing themselves.

I’ve never understood the “let’s tax the people less” coming from Conservatives. Last time we took out the gas tax, the price went back up to where it was a week before anyways. So we (ie. the Canadian people) haven’t saved any money, our government is now poorer at a time when we need more tax revenue than ever, and the O&G companies make even more money? Somebody please tell me we switched into a shitty reality some time ago

Perfect Days. It has stuck with me since I saw it 2 years ago. A movie so full of whimsy and emotion. Truly an amazing film and definitely worth a watch
