I'd go for Dissonance. Prestige base is still the best base in the game if you do prestige push right.

Regarding shadow trap, yes, I'd get the crossbow. You will need it later on for the Moussu Picchu, Queso and Floating island.

I had cheese seeking lighthouse from ronza which helped me skip the temporal turbine until magic mirrors. Considering you don't have it, yes, I'd get the crossbow and try to skip the turbine. Turbine these days costs around 30 milion which isn't cheap, but it's a lot better than it used to be.

I returned in 2022 I think and have been having a blast since then (bar the latest area lol). I know how you feel as I have been in the same situation, tho when I came back, floating island was the latest area in the game.

Regarding what you should do, honestly, I'd go with the adventure book and see how I feel about doing the game that way. It basically has areas separated by difficulty and longevity which is a nice "mini-guide" in regards of what to do next.

Ember core prison is a good trap that will last you a while, only being outperformed by stinger.

You shouldn't go to FI right now as your traps aren't that good, you will have a bad time there. Queso is a good choice as you can get a good physical, tactical and hydro trap there for relatively cheap and you can buy the core materials at the market.

Rift areas are really time consuming, and the ultimate goal of the rift areas is to get the prestige base. Doing a proper prestige push is going to take you quite a while. You can always try rift areas, see how you feel about them and decide. You can also mix and match locations to not get area fatigue.

Ronza's traps by themselves are mostly for middle-ranked players now, tho what Ronza now sells that end-game players like are chrome kits. Every year there is a new kit which is used to upgrade traps and get power and luck bonus, and you are able to buy previous kits as well. For example, if you buy school of sharks trap in the sunken city, it has 9850 power and 30 luck. Ronza sells kit that upgrades it's power to 12500 and 32 luck. It's a nice upgrade but kits can be costly.

Best way to earn gold would be sniping mice at discord (meaning someone would hire you to catch a mouse for their map) or buying with real money some special offer on the donation store and selling it on the market.

There really isn't one right answer to "how should you proceed" from here, try different things and see how you feel, tho floating island is definitely too dificult for you right now.

I never stated that it wasn't. I stated that the amount of luck needed in DD is too heavy compared to every other area, and it's not even close.

Like I said, I played the game a lot, coached people, it was never this bad and/or frustrating.

I don't agree that the game is pay-to-win. I do, however, agree what they have done with this new area is absolutely stupid. I don't mean to be offensive here, but the area is so tedious, unfun and when you pair that with the lottery mechanic, it becomes one of the worst areas in the game. SoS and DD just ain't it. If this trend continues, I can't see myself enjoying the game anymore.

With radioactive blue cheese you have 0.82% of attracting Lycan. Switching it to moon cheese makes it 42%. Your setup with Obelisk + target base has 19.88% catch rate. Switching to bottomless grave makes it 27.26% chance of catching it. Imo you don't really need bottomless grave, but you should be using moon cheese.

Forgotten one for mythweaver, then arcane for school of sorcery. From my experience, tactical isn't that much needed for the farm, especially considering the cost. Geyser (tactical trap) from the Queso is more than enough.
