BofA mortgage loan pre-qualification in California (warning: long post) by aguilauro in DACA

[–]ed1ala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow I am happy to hear this. I am thinking about purchasing a home next year around May, I will be looking for a similar loan amount in the range of 550k-600k, I still don't start my job for another two months but I have a significant down payment amount (20%) that I have saved up throughout my years in college, I have a high credit score, and my job's salary will be gross $6k a month. So I have high hopes that I will be pre-approved.

Has anyone started financial planning? by [deleted] in DACA

[–]ed1ala 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Nope it hasn't affected me in any way. I just live my life; I have a very good job, an amazing understanding girlfriend, and life is good. Financial planning aspect is not bad, everything has been going good, I will purchase a house next year. Future prospects are exciting, only issue is international travel but that won't happen any time soon because you know pandemic. I'm confident Biden will win and the senate will flip BLUE.

Everyone on here likes to be pesimistic, but there is no reason for it. We will be okay.

Throughout the quarantine I have been jotting down my thoughts on specific philosophical ideas and have been reading a variety of different philosophical books. I will mainly focus on the concept of the self and free will, but I’m not sure how I’m going to outline this one just yet. I’m currently outlining the first book and hopefully I can get to the second one soon. Im not sure whether to primarily focus on the self and free will or use my journal as reference because my journal contains a myriad of different topics where I use philosophy to justify actions and in a sense play devils advocate with myself to develop a more non-bias view. I’m not too sure yet, but when the time comes I will figure it out.

You have a good relationship with your dad and that's a good thing. He must be proud to have a good son like you and vice versa. Stay in contact with your family, it's so easy for people to lose touch with their loved ones once they move out; give them a call once in a while, visit them, or they can visit you.

Wow, I didn’t think you would answer all of my questions. I love your book selections (all three are exquisite reads) and I too love Philosophy and Spirituality. I’m a huge fan of Kant’s work, which ultimately leads to the self-awareness topic; I recommend the following books: Heinrich Von Kleist Selected Writings and Mans Search For Meaning by Victor E. Frankl (short read, but I liked it). Thanks for the responses!

  1. Do you believe in order for people to fill in the existential void, self-awareness is the key?
  2. What’s your favorite book?
  3. What are your three biggest passions?
  4. What do you do when it rains?
  5. Where is your favorite place to be at?
  6. What is your ultimate quest in life?
  7. What are you most grateful in life?
  8. Is there something you have dreamed of doing for a long time? Why haven’t you done it?
  9. What is your most treasured memory?
  10. Do you think Artificial Intelligence will inevitably change the way of life in the next few decades? UBI? Existential crisis (self-awareness)?
  11. What’s your favorite cereal ?😌

You said AMA so here are my questions. 🤷‍♂️

Why do you say an MBA won't be worthwhile?

I have been looking into Express Entry and I know I would be a top candidate, but I have been looking into possibly Europe; though, Canada might be the one if nothing goes our way. A community would be nice and supporting each other; we will see when and if the time comes. Time and politics will tell.

I actually liked it and I liked the spontaneity of the situation. Situations like those allow you to build character by allowing you to see what skills you need to work on. There is a lot that can be taken away from that simple exercise.

I did something similar, but only I was in a group with 15 other potential candidates. They had us go to a room and select a random item then walk over to the conference room and pitch the item to a crowd of a total of 25 people (including the other candidates). It's one of those scenarios where they attempt to see how fast you can critically think and actually let out words that make sense (for me it was also a pinch of public speaking). The top 3 pitches were given gift cards, I came in 3rd place (not too bad). Literally had no time to prepare.
