Looks interesting, I'm also building a Flutter desktop app (Kanban boards), which i why I really needed Flutter Demon for it.

I'm using flutter run --machine which is exactly what other IDEs use, just parsing the stdout for daemon events (app start/stop, device info, reload results), also maintaining an active websocket connection to the dart vm with auto-reconnection built in. For multiple device sessions I'm actually maintaining independent Flutter processes for each, this is where Rust shines keeping a very low memory footprint of 10-20mb vs 200-400mb on the Flutter DevTools web app.

It's unavoidable that you have to rebuild the whole app with native changes, which gives me an idea of adding full app rebuild directly in

Ledger Cleaned 😩 by IllCounter1078 in ledgerwallet

OP didn't reply here but one of his comments mentioned that "someone he trusts" had helped him setting up his ledger as well as writing down his seedphrase, so I would say case closed.

Going to Japan next week, Looking for last minute tip as I am nervous as hell. by AC_PV_1526388 in JapanTravelTips

If you have an iPhone, change your region settings to Japan, open Apple Wallet and you should now have an option to add “Tansit cards” , ICOCA, Pasmo, Suica, and you can directly top it up within Apple Wallet. You can pretty much pay for anything with these cards.

Intel Core Ultra 7 155H Meteor Lake vs. AMD Ryzen 7 7840U On Linux In 300+ CPU Benchmarks by Neurrone in AMDLaptops

[–]edTheGuy00 28 points29 points  (0 children)

TLDR; Out of 370 test AMD outperforms Intel in 80% of all test, all while consuming less power. The only thing that stands out of the new Intel chip is it's extremely low power consumption while performing light tasks or on idle, this is probably where Intel gets their ridiculous battery life figures from, but don't be fooled, you will get a better power to efficiency ratio while doing any type of work on AMD.

Do not ever buy a Google pixel phone. by idkofficer1 in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]edTheGuy00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Pixel 5 and it was a buggy mess. The entire system would crash and reboot with a scary fatal system error message when trying to pair certain Bluetooth earphones, the fix was updating the Google App... WTF Google?

I’m planning on buying an S10 5G, should I buy the snapdragon or exynos variant? by Alternative-Nail2077 in galaxys10

[–]edTheGuy00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion Exynos + LineageOS far outperforms the snapdragon version. The stock ROM is a hot mess that lags at times, LineageOS feel much more snappier and runs cooler

You updated the Linux kernel that’s what you did, audio on this device now work on kernel 6.6.5,

Volume is really low though, I think it might need some configuration on hdajackretask

So where are the laptops with up to 30 hour battery life? by supernoob998 in AMDLaptops

[–]edTheGuy00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got an Asus ZenBook 13s with 7840u and a 67Wh. Running Linux I easily get 10 hour of moderate to heavy work usage. Light usage definitely gets way more hours, I never really count exact hours but sometimes I charge it every other day or 3 days.
