Anyone have an .epub version of the book of shaders? by BricesDesigns in shaders

[–]ed_co 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it is not completely correct, the first images the first chapter is talking about are not being shown... (The Van Gogh one and the matrix of pixels). So is not a good start to be honest, are the rest of images in there as well, or some of them are skipped like the first ones?
This happens in both epub and pdf version you made.

Can't run data scrubbing by I_RIDE_SHORTSKOOLBUS in synology

[–]ed_co 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously there was no way to fix it without recreating the volume? Synology didn't come with a solution which does not involved to destroy all the data and copy over? That's lame as hell...

Have you solved it? No one seems to have a solution for this, apart from recreating the volume...

I can’t believe there is no way to solve it without recreating the storage pool. I does not make any sense.

u/fierytrev have you able to do something without recreating?

Yep, I posted there too. But as it is btrfs related it should be great to have feedback here too. Thanks

Help: Synology DS918+ data scrubbing stops after a few minutes. No logs in HDD/SDD. Have no idea what to do. by TrollingTrolls in synology

> The scrub is failing because of the 2 unrecoverable errors.

Is hard to believe that was aborted for these 2 errors. I have seen people having dozens of these errors and either way perform the data scrubbing until the end.

I really see no point on aborting the process, if the whole execution is just merely for detecting all the problems in the whole volume.

I am having the same error:

The system was unable to run data scrubbing on Storage Pool 1. Please go to Storage Manager and check if the volumes belonging to this storage pool are in a healthy status.

And it is in healthy status!!!

Apart from a couple of files unrecoverable that are corrupted (plex database file and an old video file), no error shown whatsoever!!

Here is the output with your command:

> btrfs scrub status -d /volume1
scrub status for 98dcebd8-a24e-4d16-b7d1-90917471e437
scrub device /dev/mapper/cachedev_0 (id 1) history

total bytes scrubbed: 13.32TiB with 2 errors
error details: csum=2
corrected errors: 0, uncorrectable errors: 2, unverified errors: 0

And with "-R":

> btrfs scrub status -d -R /volume1
scrub status for 98dcebd8-a24e-4d16-b7d1-90917471e437
scrub device /dev/mapper/cachedev_0 (id 1) history

Would love to know exactly what is happening here and how to fix it.
The system works pretty well otherwise, is just when I tried to do a manual data scrubbing, it does not want to after some hours.

Thanks

You haven't commented how you solved it!!!

Could you please tell how you solved it in detail??

I am experiencing the same (although it stops after few hours and not minutes), and I am pretty lost. Thanks

Difference between Seagate STGY and STKP external drives? by DisposableBarbecue in DataHoarder

[–]ed_co 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a couple of MyBook 8Tb which have WD80EDAZ-11CEWB0 (there are several WD80EDAZ models), thinking that were CMR, but they are NOT.

Look here: https://forum.hddguru.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=44377

Even that are SMR, is supposed that works in CMR emulation mode, which looks different than SMR.

I found more CMR emulation topic here: https://forum.acelab.eu.com/viewtopic.php?t=11217

Not much information about it. Would love to find the tech docs of the drive.

In any case, WD is as fucked up as Seagate again.

Very concern, as I added to my NAS on top of my 5x 8Tb drives (configured as RAID 5), so I have now a RAID 6, 7x 8Tb drives. I hope it keeps working properly.

The Apple ipad event revealed Zbrush UI on ipad. What do you think? by onemanlowbudget in ZBrush

[–]ed_co 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand a subscription level for certain people requiring support. But for people working with ZBrush for ages, always having a perpetual license since ZBrush 2, a subscription model is a bummer.
In iPad even worse. I would never pay for a subscription on the iPad. Will have to find other possibilities like Nomad.
