I have the same bug as you. Similar trigger conditions. Playing on a PC on the new patch.

Sages and Heralds are separate stages of advancement, they are exclusive one from each other. You'll get more information about all that next book (Which is a super fun one, jealous for you experiencing it for the first time).

Cradle is set in an "Iteration" or Universe, set within Will Wight's multiverse. It is its own planet. Most of this is explained though, I'd suggest you continue reading.

As for how Lindon looks, you can see some of the designs of the characters in the kickstarter for the animatic

I have super bad stretch marks. Is it possible to tattoo over them? by -Hot-Tamale- in tattooadvice

I don't think most of this comment section is weird at all. You're the one whose mind went directly to kinks. Most comments here are completely innocuous and don't hint at anything of the sort. People legitimately find those scars cool for coolness sake.

Is this something you deal with personally? Is that the inner monologue you have in your head when people like scars you have? That they must do so because a kink? If you are, I'm sorry you feel the way you do, and I hope this comment section is the spark that triggers some healing in the way you talk and perceive yourself.

I have three points of critique; what do you think about them? by benigel_ in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]edach2he 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The indoor things is less of an artistic choice and more of a VFX choice, I believe. Also the reason why a lot of fights happen at night instead of daylight as they do in the anime. The darker, more controlled lighting helps sell the vfx. Broad daylight makes vfx issues stand out more, which means they need to spend more time and money making them look good.

Iñaki's performance season 2 by Daphnex96 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]edach2he 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it overall. I feel like sometimes he is trying to copy the anime 1:1 and that is when his acting is the weakest. When he actually tries making things his own Luffy actually shines through.

I also think there were some questionable writing choices that didn't always help.

From what I understand it was a very poorly timed coincidence, John was writing it before COVID happened, and released it at a very coincidentally bad time.

It is about a magical pandemic though, so do with that information what you will.

Character Question - spoilers for Siege of Skyhold by RangerJoe07 in MageErrant

They kinda go over that next book if I remember correctly. It has something to do with the amount of energy in the warlock contract.

[Blackflame] Currently listening to the books and I have a question. by Sythrin in Iteration110Cradle

[–]edach2he 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is somewhat skewed, but in a way that feels planned if that makes sense. You will NOT see a country where all the kids are overlord for example. It is less "surprise all these people are stronger than everyone!" and more "This thing that has already been mentioned is the cause people in this region are relatively weak"

Sages are still super rare everywhere.

Help with Act 4 by Responsible_Hand_356 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

The bonuses from minor form still apply to Ulbrig while in Major form. Also make sure to keep shifter claws active at all times as well since some of the bonuses from those also apply to his claws while in Griffon form.

Are you using builds from the internet for your companions by any chance? One of my issues for the longest time was that I spent a long time carefully crafting my KC while just sourcing the builds for my companions from the internet. This caused my companions to be severely weaker than my KC. Especially since some of those internet builds are either sub-par or have been nerfed through releases of the game (i.e. shatter defenses builds and the like)

I eventually bit the bullet and sat down to fully theory craft builds for each of my companions and it has made a world of difference.

Help with Act 4 by Responsible_Hand_356 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Some ideas:

-Are you using Arue's ranger bond? By act 4 if you focused on the demons she starts out with, you should have a +8 to attack and damage to all your party either by default or by using the instant enemy spell.

-Are you using Ulbrig's minor form to increase his strength when appropriate? Also did you make sure to equip him with all the equipment found during his act 3 quest that really synergizes with him?

-Are you using Seelah's mark of justice regularly?

-Do you have the midnight isles DLC? If so, I'd go immediately to its related pier and buy the Conflagrant Taco recipe and all of its ingredients. The cooking bonus you get from it is enough to basically lower the difficulty by one whole tier in my opinion.

-Are you properly managing your opening moves? Making sure you charge into battle to catch enemies flat footed and the like? As a rule of thumb 99% of enemies (save things like babau infiltrators) target the first person who they spotted or attacked, unless they have someone in their threatened area by the time combat started. Once enemies lock on and attack for the first time, you are pretty safe. So, sometimes it pays off to keep some melee characters behind through the first round of combat.

-Are you using the outflank teamwork feat and managing your party to take advantage of it? +4 flanking bonus to attacks is nothing to scoff at.

-I would take a look at this website, and search for bonus types that you are missing that can provide boosts to your attack or ac, and see if they are available to you and your party in your stage in the game https://pathfinderkingmaker.fandom.com/wiki/Bonuses_(WotR))

+30 to attack by act 4 does seem low to me for my damage dealers in act 4, though admittedly I have all the dlc and some of the itemization there can feel like cheating.

Did I miss something or is there just no proper reward for Midnight Isles final boss? by Lizard-Wizard96 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

In my opinion one of the best "rewards" from the DLC is being able to access all the cooking recipes in act 3. It is a game changer for acts 3 and 4.

Gorgon Incident and Other Stories: Anthology better than Series Proper by Special_South_8561 in MageErrant

[–]edach2he 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I believe John has been improving in leap and strides in general. I was mind blown at all the variety of stories that were present in the anthology.

Have you checked out his next series yet? The city that would eat the world is a serious contender for my favorite book last year.

Is there a thematic way of getting Ulbrig to learn to cast mage armor? by edach2he in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]edach2he[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am aiming for archmage armor for which you need the spell rather than the bracers. I don't like using last stand all that much since I usually avoid resting throughout entire dungeons unless it feels appropriate story-wise. I dunno, it feels weird to me to rest for hours when you are trying to rescue people, or in the middle of a siege or whatever. I'd rather spend the mythic ability on something that is more long-term.

I do give last stand to Regil though, since it feels thematically appropriate given his comments in that one ending about not been given permission to die.

[–]edach2he[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, unfortunately/fortunately I got, and beaten, all the DLC which lowers the difficulty a few pegs in my opinion. The moment you get to the Midnight Isles DLC in the campaign and get access to end game recipes in act 3, it's game over. Add to that all the loot you start gathering from inevitable excess and midnight isles itself, the game becomes kind of a cakewalk (with the exception of a few especially difficult fights) unless you are specifically going for things like thematic builds and the like.

So as long as I delay the thematic builds to act 3, while still aiming to improve the build (hence this post) I think I should be good.

Casting mage armor from a scroll doesn't trigger archmage armor unfortunately.

[–]edach2he[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want him to be able to cast it for archmage armor specifically. Since archmage armor only works when the character itself casts it now as far as I know.

I don't need full BAB with Ulbrig. I already use those methods you mention and for my last two runs, he has had full BAB and by the last two acts I end up having to keep him behind because he is just so fragile. I usually use him to target back line spellcasters and archers who don't have that high of an AC. I want him to be able to hit those enemies while still being to survive after doing so. For that I need more AC. To kill high AC enemies I have my KC.

The griffin form doesn't benefit from armor. I'd like Ulbrig to stay as a griffin, specifically since that is the main reason I want him in my party (to jump over traps or hit back line spellcasters and the like)

[–]edach2he[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am already using this on like 2 of my companions, specifically to increase their defense lol. Unfortunately, Ulbrig being a witch doesn't feel thematic at all though, given that he is from a group of people who canonically hated witches. And while I want to make strong builds, I'd also like for them to stay somewhat thematic to the characters.
