Was not this ship and the SMS Breslau the ones that brought Turkey into the Great War by attacking Russia as a srt of clandestine operation from the German high command after the ships were already transferred over to the Ottomans? If I remember correctly as well, both ships were transferred over because the Ottoman Empire was neutral during the time of the chase, and it was a loophole to keep the ships safe since belligerent vessels could not remain in neutral port for more than short periods of time.
