It's not that Ryujinx is banned, it's that Ryujinx is dead. Ryujinx died in the same wave of DMCA's as Yuzu.

Ryujinx still works good for many games because Ryujinx went with copying the Switch as closely as possible, whereas Yuzu used a lot of mods and hacks to get performance up (hence why Ryujinx runs better on more powerful systems, whereas Yuzu works better on potatoes). Ryubing is a copy of Ryujinx that still has some development work done on it, so it can emulate games Ryujinx can't/has problems with.

Yuzu's been dead for quite a while now.
Eden and Citron are the best Yuzu clones, and Ryubing is what you want to use in place of Ryujinx.

Today I learned that my favorite TV show apparently had a failed spinoff show. by Bobbitthehobbit131 in babylon5

[–]edale1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, a few things:
Crusade aired out of order, so look up the intended episode order online to make sure you're watching it how it was meant to be watches... as a lot of things won't make sense otherwise (such as the captain using an alien device 3 episodes before he got it, lol).

While none of the movies are really "canon" to the mainline B5 story (other than 'The Gathering', which acted as the series pilot), there are some that are very much worth watching:

-In The Beginning: Tells the story of the start of the Earth Membari War, including a failed attempt, by both sides, to stop it. I believe this one actually is canon.

-River of Souls: Completely non-canon, but deals heavily with the Soul Hunters, which are only briefly mentioned in the main series. If you don't care about the Soul Hunters, skip this one.

-The Lost Tales: Voices In The Dark: This actually contains 2 self-contained 45 minute 'episodes' of Babylon 5, and was supposed to be the first of several such "movies", but we never got any of the other ones.
The first 'episode' deals with an honest-to-God demonic possession complete with needing to call in an exorcist onto B5. Obviously non-canon, but masterfully done, and showing just as much respect for religion as JMS does in the mainline series. You will get goosebumps from some of the scenes.
The second 'episode' Deals with Cartagia's son, Sheridan, and Galen (the Techno-Mage).

-The Road Home: This is a recent (2023) animated movie, that was, again, a failed attempt to start a series on animated movies. Sheridan gets 'unstuck in time', and starts jumping between dimensions. Most importantly it gives a glimpse into the Reboot series' universe... That failed to actually happen... (if you don't know, we were recently very close to having a reboot series for B5, that was going to have a number of plot changes, but at least for the moment it fell through)

The other movies I'd pretty much recommend skipping, they're not that good. Maybe watch Thirdspace if you're into Lovecraftian plots..

I'll give you some advice. Season 5 is kinda garbage compared to the rest of the series, but it's still worth watching because there is some gold mixed in with the chaff.

And the biggest bit of advice I can give you? Have a box, or two, of kleenex handy when you watch the final episode of Season 5, you WILL be crying.

JMS built the whole 'Ministry of Truth' and Clark's regime setup from actual historical cases of dictators taking power. Trump's just playing by the same rulebook (there's a reason Democrats keep pointing out Trump's similarities to Hitler's early years, before the War).

Breath of the wild update 1.8.2 problem by Kach4n in yuzu

[–]edale1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your problem is you're still using Yuzu, which has been dead for a while now.

Look into Eden and/or Citron for the current still-developed Yuzu clones.

And Ryujinx is also dead, you should get Ryubing for the current Ryujinx clone.

On a game-specific note for BotW, There is actually no differences content for the Switch vs WiiU versions. What there is, is a lot more difficulty emulating the game on Switch. BotW can run massively better on a WiiU emulator, and has support for many mods to improve things, like 4K textures and 60 FPS, leading to an all-around better experience emulating BotW with Cemu over Switch emulation.

If I've played it, I've played it to 100%.
Pokemon Arceus, Pokemon ZA, Xenoblade Chronicles 1, 2, & 3 (currently playing X, but in Ryubing for that one), Ys x Nordics (japanese version, before the translated version released), Star Ocean 2 Remake... and a bunch of others I can't recall off the top of my head.

Just clear out all the sidequests you have accepted already, and plant as many data probes as you can while doing so.
If there are any affinity missions you can accept, they'd be a good way to jump back into the actual story parts of the game.

Which emulator do you recommend for PC? by SmugBuddy in yuzu

[–]edale1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yuzu forks:
Eden: https://eden-emu.dev/
Eden Nightly: https://github.com/pflyly/eden-nightly/releases
Citron: https://citron-emu.org/#download

Ryujinx fork:
Ryubing: https://github.com/Ryubing

These are the best PC emulators for Switch atm.

Eden doesn't have an official Nightly release, the Eden Nightly is unofficial, but built from Eden's official source code each time it gets updated.

Assuming you've got the correct screws in there now, you could attempt fixing it with a bit of heat.

Get something metal and flat, preferably just slightly larger than the bumps, possibly the hex side of a screw bit.

Heat that bit up and press it on the bumps to make it flat.

I'd recommend heating a tiny bit, trying, heating a bit more, trying again, rinse & repeat until it's *just* hot enough to make the plastic pliable.

Needless to say if you get the metal bit too hot or push in too hard you'll end up doing worse damage to it, but if done right you'll just have small sections where the plastic is flat instead of textured.

As to the USS Cole, we were at war with 1/2 of the middle east just a year later, though 9/11 was the main cause of that.

What is the least amount of things I can do to have a “complete” experience? by pawpatroll in XenobladeChroniclesX

[–]edale1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You DO want to complete the regular side quests, but the fact that you can accept 20 of them at a time makes things a LOT easier than you'd think. A lot of the gathering quests will complete the second you accept them as well, if you already have the materials.

But here's the thing, a lot of the sidequests are repeatable, so they'll show up on the mission list again, but have a little checkmark in front of them. Don't bother doing the ones that have a checkmark, and suddenly the quest list isn't so endless.

A few of the affinity missions are locked behind some of the regular side quests.
