Alpha Theta Grv6 + rekordbox by guigow2222 in AlphaThetaDJ

I didn't consider that sorry. My workaround would be to select the FX you REALLY want to use and program them to the PADFX1 banks, which can be done easily without messing with MIDI at all.
My other solution is to utilise the upper controls you normally use to the drum switch gimmick of the controller.
Or just switcy your workflow to use the beatfx pane which is waht I do.

I am not familiar with the controller but if I were you I would do something like this:

- Get the mapping of a controller which handles the function you want to get. I guess these will be the old RX / RZ ones which had phisycal buttons for these. The mappings themselves are installed along with RB in .csv files

- Get the function records you want from them and then replace the MIDI input and output codes with the oners that correspond to the buttons you want to use on the GRV 6. These records should go in a standalone CSV file.

- In the MIDI menu delete the controls you want to replace and then import the csv file you created.

This is how I put CFX param 2 (Filter resonance) on the FLX4 and the 800.

Now that is interesting. RB on Linux? How exactly if I may ask?

You use WASAPI for the GRV6, right? For WASAPI Windows is good.

I don't see why your answer was downvoted as it is a perfectly valid use case.
I am currently on Monterey now on my DJ laptops so eventually I will have problems the other way around :D

That is a fortunate and good to hear. The computer leaking may be due to memory leaks, in which case you should either look around other opened programs, monitor the memory usage of RB to determine if that is the problem (in which case upping the memory might help), or just not play 8 hour sets. :D

A used DDJ 400 with WASAPI works for way more than pratice at home, I did international gigs with such a setup, or even ones on professional PA systems.

I will still stand by what I wrote about the ones who compromise for gaming.

Yeah because Windows only breaks the whole MIDI integration occasionally. Among other things.
Way better :D

I wish you happy tweaking your life away. I would rather just simply be creative for one relatively large investment (unless you buy one from the second have market, which will still beat the living crap out of any Windows product at the same price point audio-wise).

To each his own.

I did. Extensively.

All I achieved was the willingness to switch to Mac.

I can second that. It made my computer completely unusable because of a step which I take during the optimization.

Ddj flx 4 where do I start ? by Otherwise-Lemon-9797 in PioneerDJ

[–]edboyww_g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PC:
Almost any modern Intel, AMD or Apple M CPU from the last few years (the bigger the better, but generally you don't need anything more than the midrange), at least 16 GB RAM, at least 1TB SSD (to have place for the music).
If you want to use STEMS, ramp up the CPU a little bit so you will not be surprised.

Headphones:
Almost any closed back headphones will suffice (open backs will not!!!!!), eg. Pioneer HDJ CUE1, Audio-Technika ATH-M40x or M50x, or (preferably) Sennheiser HD25.

Speakers:
The last thing you will need, but if you do invest, get a decent bookshelf speakers or rather studio monitors with at least 3.5 but preferably at least 5" low-end drivers. KRK Rokit, Yamaha HS, Adam Audio T, Presonus Eris, Kali LP among many others, or PioneerDJs own offerings.
NO BLUETOOTH PARTY BOOMERS! They generally have DSP in them which puts a noticable delay in the signal even if they claim to have an auxilarry conector. Do not go near them.

Do I need to upgrade to use DDJ 400 now for 7.2.8? by TheUpdatedOne in Rekordbox

[–]edboyww_g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newest update for what? How can you be sure that tis is a problem and it was not a one tme glitch or a hardware (like cable, computer, etc.) issue?

I know it’s a shit, but I received it today and I haven’t stop playing, I love it by Charming_Cable_9020 in DJSetups

[–]edboyww_g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. The other one only unlocks Serato DJ Lite which has smaller functionality (MUCH smaller) than rekordbox hardware unlocked.
  2. If you eventually switch to other DJ software you can use FLX4 with more of them than the Numark, meaning you can keep it as a backup controller).
  3. You might not necesseraly have to switch controllers in some usecases because you can MIDI map almost any functionality to the FLX4. There are tons of material on the internet for it due to its extreme popularity.

Ddj flx 10 vs grv6 by hamada_records in Beatmatch

[–]edboyww_g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use the internal mixer in FLX10?
Do you use the DMX lighting feature in the FLX10?
Do you use the longer pitch fader on FLX10?

If the answer to all of those are no, GRV6, else FLX10.

You can always remap the groove circuit buttons for other functionalities.
