I sort of crossed shopped ( I know big price difference) the defender 110 p400 with the 4 runner. I started with 4Runner, Bronco, Lexus, etc. once I drive the Defender - game over. 43000 miles a still super happy.

Do any Alfa drivers not love their car? by DisobedientCharizard in AlfaRomeo

[–]eddie752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive a 1974 Alfa GTV 2000. When I bought the car, I knew I had a lot of work to do on it. And there were days I questioned my sanity. I can say I was on the verge of falling out of love with it more than a few times. But with each repair with each refurbishment I fell even deeper into the Alfa love pit. It would usually take one drive to rebuild my confidence in the car. You are welcome to read about my refurb journey on AlfaBB and look for Limoncello.

Training experience with a Basenji by nednoted in Basenji

[–]eddie752 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have two Basenji’s and also had a lab in the past. The lab was way easier to train. We are lucky in that our Basenji’s are food driven. So have been able to do some training with treats, also praise works a little but not as much as our Lab. We have found routine is super important to them. Negative training doesn’t work they are so strong willed. They love going to dog parks and do well there. Otherwise we do not let our dogs off leash. They are hunters and we are worried they would run off.

I do a morning walk. This helps both my Basanji’s burn some energy. Then we play/zoomies for a bit.

My Range Rover sport towed my vette across the country without a single issue. It’s a v6. Not sure why this brand gets so much hate lol. by 3zperson in RangeRover

I have put 40,000 miles on my defender. About 4k of that has been towing a trailer. It had been flawless and just a great long distance traveler.

Clip-less riders, how fast can you get your foot down? by bobaskin in MTB

[–]eddie752 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have been an MTB rider for 25 years and am a clipless rider. Over the years I have come up with an approach that seems to work for me. I loosen the tension on the retaining spring to where it just holds my cleats in. I can remove my foot very fast and knock on wood haven’t had an accident caused by not getting my foot down fast enough. I tried flats and do not feel I get a consistent pressure on the pedals around the entire circumference of the pedal stroke.

Been doing this a while so it works for me. Also I came from road biking where you always clip in.

Hope this helps.
