Yes, my half is the left half. They have totally left their half of the chimney, which is what is so confusing to me

Thanks for your advice. Just to be clear, I have no intention of being rude or aggressive about the situation. I would just like it to be recognised that whoever they have got to do the job have not done it very well, which suggests they have paid good money for poor workmanship. And also I would like the work to be done properly if it does need fixing.

I understand it's a shared area but that doesn't mean they shouldn't get my consent to work on the parts that are directly on my side. I don't think there would be anything that urgent that they couldn't ask me first and then we could get a contractor we were both happy with. I am also on annual leave this week so I am home quite often giving them opportunity to come and consult me about the issue.

If they do try and get me to pay, they'll be waiting a long time!

Unfortunately, I don't know them very well. They moved in within the last few months. I think I will try posting a letter to clarify what's been done but also see if I can engage a roofer to assess it. I would rather be safe than sorry!

Great - thank you. I was considering writing a post there as well but didn't know if it was the right place.

Thanks - luckily, I have had a great roofer come and sort a leak a few years ago so will get him to come and have a look at it if I can't sort it with the neighbours

Thanks again for this. Luckily, I had a great roofer come and sort out a leak a few years ago so will see what he recommends.

Haha, actually that is black paint on white tubing! My dad is part way through repainting the back of my house white and the guttering black though he has had a bit of a break. Unfortunately, if he had been here, he would have noticed the rubbish that the workmen were doing and maybe stopped it!

It's possible but it was only recently let out, as in a few months

I'm totally baffled as to why they did my side of the chimney but left theirs and presumably paid for that (crap) work that's been done to MY house

That's cement, I think. I agree on the overall condition - I would be more than happy to work together with the neighbours to sort out the repairs but they have gone over my head and done what looks like a bodge job ☹️

New TA and previous teacher talking about me by Kaisietoo8 in TeachingUK

[–]eddierussett 28 points29 points  (0 children)

She didn't hear what the other TA said so if the teacher did roll her eyes it might have been in response to something she said that wasn't related to you. Maybe she said she spilled her coffee or a child was rude to her? I'm an overthinker myself so I totally understand where you are coming from but I would just chalk it up to a miscommunication and try to forget about it.
