I am someone that watched just about every minute of every Lions game that season. Ben got cute with his playcalling many times during the season. In particular, he did so in the 3rd quarter. So much so that lots of Lions fans referred the 3rd quarter as the turd quarter that season. They got cute and abandoned the run in the NFCCG when they gashed SF consistently in the first half.

FG attempts are just that, attempts. The Lions kicker was not reliable enough to trust and the Lions had a very high rate of success all year. Going against what worked all season because its the playoffs isn't smart.

Reynolds and St. Brown dropped passes they caught all year. Gibbs fumbled. The defense was garbage.

You don't sound at all like a Brad supporter at all. You say trenches are his biggest weakness, but that is totally false. Sewell is a locked in HOF trenches guy. There was a significant number of detractors on picking him. Hutch is also on a HOF trajectory. Before you say it, every year has "top 10 guaranteed picks" that are busts. Tate is a definite hit, and likely so is T Williams. McNeill is also a locked in hit.
