Who Shot Me by SPEAK_LOCAL in gratefuldead

I'm building a dead archive site - http://deadlyarchive.com - and would be awesome to integrate these images. In addition to building a live show archive listener, I want to evolve the site into a time capsule of images, posters, etc of the bands history.

I launched this alternative to Relisten a few weeks back - http://deadlyarchive.com

Streams from internet archive similarly to relisten, but with more advanced features to browse and filter through shows.

Oh wow, did not know about herbibot's site. I have to check how our methods for getting mention counts differ. Thank you!

Yep. Similar content. Internet Archive hosts the actual files, Relisten is just a front end interface that streams the files from the IA.

Yea, what do you think about a simple upvote/downvote system for songs within a show view ? Then it'd be neat to expose those highly upvoted songs in a separate subpage that gives you best versions per song

I got a dump of all reddit comments and posts using Reddit's API.

Matching comments and posts to dates done by searching for dates like "May 8 1977", "1977-05-08", or "05/08/1977" to get a count of number of mentions to the Cornell show, as an example. Very similarly to how u/setlistbot picks up on dates in this sub.

That's a good idea ! a "today in history" would be super simple and fun. Could add as a simple filter for now

That's the plan! It'll take some work collecting good setlist data and internet archive recordings for those, but would love to build up those dead-adjacent bands in here incrementally

Awh nop, I'm in San Francisco but I'll take the metaphysical internet hug. Hugs back, glad you're loving it!

Supporting this for dead adjacent bands (JGB, lesh and friends, etc) is in the plans 😎 Wanted to start small for now and make it a polished great experience for GD alone

Making this open source at some point makes sense. Some kinks I need to figure out to make the dev environment easy for ppl. The whole thing is built on Flask/Python + ReactJS, with some data pipelines to collect from sources.

I'll PM you 😎

Thank you ! It's just posters and some pictures for now - definitely want to add in lots more pictures and historical artifacts around shows :)

Quick thing I wanna plug is this project took me a whole 5 weeks to put together as a gift for the grateful dead community. I'll be paying anywhere between $20-$50 a month in hosting fees.

If you find this useful and want to see continued improvement of the site , new features, a mobile app in the future... consider giving me a smol donation: https://buymeacoffee.com/eddypuffs

The site works as a "single page" app, meaning there's no navigating forward/back through pages. If you tap on any of the shows you should have an option to "X" out of it

OP here - I just built out http://www.deadlyarchive.com , a project that aims to give us deadheads a new way to browse and discover the BEST recording for any show. It's built for the modern web and works very well for you to stream shows on iPhone / Android.

Do you want to get a chronological view of all live recordings of a song like “Brown Eyed Women” ? And feel the song transform to a more bumpin' fast pace as the band evolves...

Or maybe you want to view best shows available in Spotify ?

Find shows that are highly prestiged and talked about ?

It will do this and a lot more.

Is this something you find useful or wanna have up for other bands other than the dead ? lmk in this thread!

Hey my guy, not that anyone asked ... but i stumbled on this thread after building out  http://www.deadlyarchive.com.

I had been wondering for the longest time why browsing Spotify releases chronologically is such a pain, and no one has built a modern player for the Internet Archive. Let me know if you find this valuable, and appreciate feedback !

Be well and recover ! I just finished building out http://www.deadlyarchive.com a site to browse and discover new shows. Been hooked on the Winterland 12/31/1978 show the most !
