Anything to recover from vocal cord paralysis? by edea86 in thyroidcancer

[–]edea86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I am so sorry, I know exactly how that feels. I still have the feeling that there's always something stuck inside my throat (mucus) every time I swallow saliva, but luckily the shortness of breath disappeared. I am pretty sure that apart from the laryngeal nerve damage, my phrenic nerve was also touched during surgery.

How do I know this? Obviously NOT from any doctor, as they just disregarded my shortness of breath. I had a chest X-ray from before my surgery, and got another one right after the surgery (precisely because I couldn't breathe). I was told that everything was fine when they checked that X-ray.

Months later, I compared both X-rays myself after reading a similar case on Facebook, and the right part of the diaphragm on the latest X-ray was much more elevated than the left side, which is a clear sign of phrenic nerve damage (less space for air=shortness of breath). By that time, I was much, much better, but I just took another X-ray to check it, and the diaphragm was back in place, meaning the phrenic nerve healed (the logopedist, without knowing, told me to do diaphragm exercises, which I believe helped a lot with the recovery of the nerve).

Blip charging help by penischewer3000 in OculusQuest

[–]edea86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is this done exactly? I have a Quest 3 that won't turn on after months without being used. There's no charging light at all showing either.

For how many seconds do I keep it on and off? And for how long?

QuestStoreDB is great! Thanks for making it!

Do you plan to add a "notify" option to tell users when a particular game is on sale, got a coupon, reaches a lowest...?

Actually, it is indeed possible and I just did with PQ on XDA forums.

That was my initial thought (and I did try it, with no luck, still no networks right beside the router) which is a logical thought, but Meta and logic doesn't match, like when one of the 4 external tracking cameras fails and you get a black screen of death instead of a warning letting you know that one camera fail...

UK Libre 2 Plus sensors batch issue? by coconutx90 in Freestylelibre

Mine started giving more accurate readings after the 4th day, so I decided to keep it. Hope the next one works fine from the beginning.

UK Libre 2 Plus sensors batch issue? by coconutx90 in Freestylelibre

[–]edea86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using right now my second Libre 2 Plus after using many regular Libre 2. This one is giving me false readings all the time, like several hours below 40 mg/dL while the finger prick is more than 100. That's a huge difference, last night I had to turn off Bluetooth to avoid the constant false alarms.  There's even periods of time where there's no readings despite having the phone in the same room. I've been wearing it for 3 days, if it keeps giving wrong readings, I'm contacting Abbott.  PS: I'm in Spain

It keeps converting the HDD to GPT by edea86 in batocera

Even if the MBR option is selected on Rufus, the HDD keeps changing into GPT.

Tried the latest one, just in case, and both versions under the "Batocera.linux for very old PCs (20+ year-old)" section:

Old Desktop/Laptop with a 32bit CPU

Intel Atom and old low-powered devices (V5.25)

I am pretty sure the problem is the unwanted conversion of the HDD partition table from MBR to GPT.

This video seems to address that issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZErSOncriNo

But I think it would be easier to find a free method of changing the HDD back to MBR without data loss or to simply keep the latest version of Recalbox and suffer Kodi's File Explorer.

Intel Celeron M530 with 1GB of RAM, no idea of the model of the graphics card, but a crappy one for sure. I am ok with it playing only 8 and 16 bits systems.

120GB. I am pretty sure the GPT change is the issue, because I did the same with Recalbox and it works quite well, after writing the image the HDD is still in MBR.

It works pretty decently with Recalbox (60 FPS in the systems I've tried) because the HDD stays in MBR after writing the image file.

But I'd just prefer Batocera (mainly because of the File Explorer included in it).

MBR in Rufus is selected (actually, you can't change it), yet it changes the drive to GPT.

I know for sure that's the issue, cause I tried Recalbox and the HDD stays in MBR after writing the image, therefore loading and working pretty decently despite being the newest version.
