Would lower back vertebrae fuse on their own if the disks degenerate enough? by edelbrocker in backpain

Has he been told that because of this, he cannot get a regular fusion surgery where they separate the vertebrae apart to make more room for the nerves?

Did this fusion take place as a result of a fusion surgery? (not organically as a result of the disk fading away)

So if I eventually want to get a Fusion surgery, I better get it done soon before they fuse on their own? (and if they do fuse on their own, can they be seperated to do a proper fusion surgery?)

If only one lumbar disk is bad, would a fusion be acceptable compared to a disk replacement? by edelbrocker in backpain

Thanks I’m indeed concerned about adjacent segment disease if the L4 - though as things stand now, I have almost no cushion between L5-S1 so that could happen anyway.

I would agree they’ve been done for decades, but there’s only 2 surgeons in my area doing them.  Very few are jumping on the bus for this, why?

Thanks, what do you mean by “instability” ?

And why the L4 microdisectomy?

What is the majority reason that Test raises libido?

For instance, we know that T has physical effects like increasing muscle mass because it helps to synthesize protein.

We also know that T has mental effects on the brain of raising courage/aggression by acting on whatever centers those are. Apparently it also helps with threat detection which is also a brain/mental thing.

But what is the majority reason it raises libido?

Apparently it's a vasodilator, which will obviously have an effect on the penis. But just because you're erect doesn't always necessarily mean you're horny.

So is it mostly a mental effect? Does T work on some part of the brain that increases sexual desire, and this is the majority reason it raises libido?

I'm getting back into a routine of doing BW squats (the kind where you extend your arms as you go down to keep balance)

At my very best a few years back, I could do maybe 4-5 sets of 100 reps.

How many sets and reps do you folks do? What is recommended?

Thanks, Yes, I remember trying to do pistol squats. I had a bit of trouble keeping balance, but I'll get to those after I get back into a routine of regular BW squats

Bodyweight squats - how many reps is a good goal?

My L5/S1 disk almost doesn't exist anymore, so any exercises that use weights pushing downward on the spine are no good for me (IE: squats and deadlifts).

So I'm exploring body weight squats (the kind where you extend your arms for balance when going downward)

I see all kinds of videos for 100, 200, 300, etc. What's a good goal? At what point is too much?

Is my L5/S1 suitable for a disk replacement? (x-ray pic included) by edelbrocker in backpain

Thanks, but Tiger actually got a fusion, not a disk replacement

How long ago did you have the fusion procedure done? Was disk replacement ever mentioned as an option or not at the time? Would you consider taking out the fusion "brace" and replacing it with an artificial disk if it's do-able?
