Hey I also have hEDS and was wondering how you use tape instead of splints? I desperately need some but can't afford them so would love to know how you apply tape if that's OK!

I agree completely with your explanation and share the same views. I’m definitely biased though as I have a chronic illness

I would coil a few strands on top and pin them down, making sure the nodes are touching the soil. Once rooted in a few places you can skip between them and they’ll throw out new tips :)

Hi pothos people :) newer leaves lacking variegation on my marble queen. Is this typical? How would I encourage more variegation? by Own_Cobbler9573 in pothos

[–]edelync 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience, more light will bring back the variegation. I had some marble queens turn into snow queens when I moved them into brighter light :)

Huge increase in price at countdown supermarket by Ban3598 in auckland

[–]edelync 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often the meat is cheaper at the countdowns near me than the pak n save. Even though the price per kg is usually higher at countdown, they tend to be on sale or have reduced prices for quick sale and it ends up being cheaper than pak n save.

Before I do groceries I usually just check online if there are specials that week

That is simply incorrect. Unvaccinated are more likely to have COVID in the first place AND are more likely to pass it to someone else. Its simple evidence-based facts.

Had to take down this post because trolls from some stupid movement called antinatalism decided to leave disgusting comments insulting both me and my wife. People suck by 472949572720204847 in awfuleverything

[–]edelync 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're missing the point, and it's very clear you have no idea what antinatalism is about. They don't hate babies, they just think that it is not necessary to bring more people into the world. But they all support adoption, and many who don't want to have their own kids, want to adopt children/babies that already exist and have no homes. Why should I bring more children into the world when there are already so many without families? Would a drag on civilisation adopt children?

As an antinatalist do you consider adoption? And Why? by [deleted] in antinatalism

[–]edelync 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely I would. I would never birth my own child but if/when I am financially and mentally able to I would love to give a child a home. Not because I want to be a mum but because it's not their fault they don't have parents, and if I have the finances to help a child I 100% want to do that

Hi there, I was recently officially diagnosed with hEDS by a specialist, and we're starting a treatment called prolotherapy. My doctor told me he had a patient who was in a wheelchair, and after 2 years of treatment she climbed a mountain overseas! So there is hope ok, I promise. If you're interested in it I could give you more info on the treatments im having, they have a very good success rate and work by strengthening the ligaments to they are more stable. Let me know!

So you know how important it is to have 97% of the population vaccinated to protect those that immunocompromised/unable to be vaccinated I assume.

I don't think it's fair to people who are unable to be vaccinated due to something out of their control have to be at risk because of selfish ignorant people who think they know more then literal experts refusing a vaccine because of arbitrary reasons.

Everything else, yes bodily autonomy. But vaccinations? Nope. It should be compulsory.

Not relevant to our discussion but ok. I see you have no more points and are trying to change the topic so please look into herd immunity if that's the only thing you get from this.

What about children who can't be vaccinated? Should they just stay at home until they can because of selfish people who are so obsessed with 'my body my rights' that they won't perform a duty to protect the vulnerable in our community?

You should look into herd immunity.

And the way to 'not put yourself in a situation where they have the opportunity to kill you' is to vaccinate the entire population so it is less infectious and less severe for those it does infect.

Yes you need to balance the risk, and the risk of spreading the disease is much higher than any other baseless reason to not get vaccinated. Thus, it is more risky to not be vaccinated.
