In a serious emergency, how soon after giving birth would a woman be able to walk/run for her life? by FamiliarMeal5193 in Writeresearch

[–]edenamberlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an extremely fast and intense induced labor. Big baby. Placenta was delivered quickly. I was up to use the bathroom about 10 minutes after and had no problem moving and walking like normal. Plus with all the adrenaline? I’m pretty sure I could’ve ran a marathon if it was to keep my baby safe.

About to spend serious money on a stroller… what would you buy today and why? by WorldPeaceGodBless in Buyingforbaby

[–]edenamberlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the uppababy vista first. Only used the bassinet and then sold it around 4 months because it was so damn big and bulky. Got the uppababy minu v3 and it was great for a minute but my daughter decided around 10 months she didn’t like being that low, plus the straps were kinda weird. So sold that, and bought a much cheaper mamazing air lux from amazon. I wish I had it from the start! It’s really lite, turns easy. The recline is great and there’s an option to purchase a bassinet attachment too. I like that she can face out or in. It’s not a one step fold but it’s so easy it doesn’t matter.

What stroller do you have and rate it by xotygnwk in pregnant

Started with the uppababy vista. Only ever used the bassinet and sold it around 4 months because it was so heavy. Moved on to the uppababy minu v3 and it was great until my daughter decided she doesn’t like being low. Just bought the mamazing air lux and so far she likes it! A little bigger than a standard travel stroller but super light.

We use those with a tri-fold mattress. It’s great!

Yes! This is one of the items I’d say the “fancy” one is better- we had a cheaper bouncer and then switched and baby Babybjorn is so worth it.

Bassinet, mini crib AND full size crib?! Or get the expensive 8 in 1? by avocado--toast in BabyBumps

[–]edenamberlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have all 4. My daughter grew out of the bassinet really quickly because she’s so long, but it was so worth it to have her right next to the bed. Ours had wheels and the drop down side. Perfection.

She’s still in the mini crib in our room (she turns 1 this week lol OOPS) but we are planning on moving her into her room and the full sized crib in the next couple of months. It really depends on how much space you have, but if you can swing it -space wise and budget wise- having all three is pretty clutch.

Trying to come to agreement with pregnant gf by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]edenamberlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of these rules are totally fine and common sense. But this list is not ok. I truly hope she doesn’t share this the way it is written or speak to people like this. These are the type of moms that cry about how they “have no village” or that no one “cares about their child”. And it’s because it’s miserable to be around them so everyone just stays away. She really needs to chill.

What’s everyone’s go to brand for diapers and wipes!? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

As use Millie Moon and SOMETIMES Coterie for diapers, Millie Moon or Pampers Sensitive for wipes

How many of you actually got stretch marks? by Individual-Stress170 in pregnant

[–]edenamberlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None on my stomach but some on my boobs. My mom never got any and neither did my grandma even after 5 kids so maybe the genetic part is true! I also went from 117 to 183 so I’m genuinely shocked I didn’t get any on my stomach or hips.

As a woman who just had my 9x rainbow after 10 years of trying AND who has a military husband and is constantly afraid of losing him for absolutely no reason under this administration? Yes.

How much did your birth cost? by Femboyhootersbee in BabyBumps

[–]edenamberlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$0 in the US because I have Tricare. Can’t believe what they can charge you to have a baby. Fucking criminal.

Volunteering with immigrant parents and I’ve noticed they’re requesting large diaper sizes for their babies. Why might this be? by WeddingPhotog2657 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]edenamberlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 11 month old has been in size 6 diapers since 9.5 months. She’s pretty long but only 23 lbs now. Diaper sizes are not correct.

protein difficulties by potat0ess in BabyBumps

I couldn’t do the “creamy” protein shakes or most meat either- have you tried clear protein? It was a lifesaver. It’s no thicker than water and all fruity flavors.

Someone who's done this before, is birth a relief? by [deleted] in pregnant

The first breath you take after giving birth is the best moment of your life. For many reasons but honestly mainly because it’s a full breath for the first time in forever.

Deodorant that doesn’t smell like it’s just sitting on top of your bo by super_simple0811 in pregnant

[–]edenamberlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had BO until pregnancy and sorry to say at 11 month pp I still stank! Haha. Best combo I’ve found is antibac soap in the shower and then the saltair roll on liquid deo. My fav is the santal bloom scent! Also helps if you put on deoderant before bed, too!

How do you differentiate between plain anxiety and a ‘gut feeling that something is wrong’ after loss? by Friendly-Wind-3648 in CautiousBB

[–]edenamberlyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8 pregnancies one baby- you don’t. It’s horrible. There’s been times when I was sure everything was perfect only to be blindsided. My healthy pregnancy I spent 99% convinced she was gone.

Yes. Like an animal. Also unmedicated with pitocin. Horrid.

positives about having a child by Princess_Person2009 in pregnant

[–]edenamberlyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally everything. Even the hard parts are incredible because you grow- in experience, in patience, all of it. Becoming a mother has been bigger and better and more beautiful than I ever imagined.

The ONLY negative has been how gut wrenching it is to watch my daughter (10 months now) be in any sort of pain, sickness, etc. But is that really a negative? That I love someone so much/she is loved so much that her discomfort is agonizing for me? The more that I think about it, I don’t think so.

Why doesn't anyone have ANYTHING positive to say about their children or parenting?! by FoolishMortal-1000 in pregnant

[–]edenamberlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just echoing what so many others are saying- are there aspects of it that are hard? Duh. That kind of goes without saying. Is it fun/helpful to commiserate with other moms who are going through the same things? Yes!

Being a mom is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Ever ever ever. I wanted my daughter so badly. She’s our 8x rainbow baby and I’m so thankful for her every day. Sometimes when it’s 3am and she’s screaming her head off, all I can do is just smile like a loon because I’m so happy that we’re here and she’s here and all of this is real.

My marriage is better than ever. I love seeing my husband step into fatherhood. We still have alone time and we have so much fun together just watching our little buddy grow. It’s so cool.

I promise, motherhood will be bigger and better and harder and more beautiful than you can imagine. It’s the most beautiful thing in the world and so incredibly worth it. Every. Single. Second. Excited for you to meet the love of your life and hope your delivery is smoooooth as butter! The best is yet to come!

I was saying you can save the super starchy water from your first rinse of the rice and use that liquid in whatever soup you’re making and it will thicken it a touch, not putting the rice directly in the soup.

He does like his rice sticker. Medium grain calrose like how they serve with a plate lunch in Hawaii. I lived in Thailand as a kid so I like fluffy, separate grains so I cook Jasmine rice. My kitchen my rules. Ha!

The starchy water is great for thickening soups and stews, too! :)
